Colonial Grand At The Galleria Rip-off! Bad Business Practices! Birmingham Alabama
I lived at Colonial Grand at the Galleria for almost three years. I always payed my rent on time. I am a trustworthy renter. Granted, I expected to be billed upon moving out for some of the damages attained to my apartment. However, I expected to receive some sort of itemized list of what they were charging me for or simply just a bill to let me know that I owed them money. Did I receive either of these??? No!!!
Instead I receive a letter from a credit collection company only a month and a day after I have moved from the property. This letter informs me that I have 30 days to pay the amount listed or I will be reported to a credit bureau. So, of course I am going to pay the amount. However, wouldn't it make good sense to send a bill first.
This is just the straw that broke the camel's back. There are many more problems with this particular complex. For example, the fact that they let illegal immigrants live 10 to 15 in an apartment meant to house 4. The steady increase in crime over the three years I lived there was not a big plus either. If you are looking for a place to move, cross Colonial Grand at the Galleria off your list.
