OSI Portfolio was so conveniently claiming they were not recieving payments I had the the copies of the cashed checks for. Front and Back!! and oh suprise they were on time payments. Oh and suprise again I was never 30 days late either. Oh and Michigan is spelled MICHIGAN. Oh and Ryan just what public records should we look at? Yours or mine? Gulf State is the same company as OSI Portfolio. According to the BK document I was sent. They all are one in the same company acting under different names. Some are payment proccessing centers such as OSI. It is really unfortunate a large company like Gateway would use such shoddy business for their credit. That is all I have to say. Except I have the documents do you? Don't insult consumers with your corporate defense. Gulf State credit was not calling me. I was calling them because OSI was not responding to my compaints. So my account was not in Gulf State credits hands due to any collections. I contacted them !

Oh Ryan, you must be an employee of Gulf State. for everyone's information! I have the records. I am Karen from Michigan. For anyone who would like to see my documentaion I will gladly provide it! Even the copy of the check I recieved. I could post it here. I lost NOTHING!! This company has filed bankruptcy. I recieved notice in the mail 2 days ago. OSI Portfolio and Gulf State Credit. Oh yes! I have lots and lots of documentation. I think you may want to know what you are talking about before you make statements. So if any one would like a copy of any piece of information I will gladly provide it. They are still being investigated for their billing tactics. Don't you dare dispute my statement. Who ever you think you are or what you think you have knowledge of Is crap. If there was a newspaper large enough I would put into print every piece of information I have. There is nothing I would like nothing better than to show everyone how miss handled the accounts are, public that would be great!!!!!! then the every consumer could see. So go ahead Ryan lets see the public record. Show it to us........we are waiting.

Truth in part is on your side. As I noticed you are in Atlanta, I wouldn't be surprised that you work or know someone in Gulfstate Credit. I will add that there are some nice people that work there, like Erica at EX. 5114. I must, however, shoot down your fame and glory momentarily. I DID have that account bought by Gulfstate and I DID settle that account in April of 2002. I DID have that account closed and Gulfstate reopened an account that was CLOSED!!! From what I know, that to me is illegal. Tell your connections to re-close my account. For what it's worth, in response to your "1/10th of 1%". I am so sure. Any company with 26,000,000 accounts will have more than 2,600 complaints. Look at Ford, AOL, Qwest, Firestone and the list could go on. All reputable companies, all with more than 1/10th of 1% of all accounts that have substantial complaints. We make/made mistakes in our credit histories. Some of us re-open those accounts to pay our debts. Some of those debts are removed from our accounts, some show a more positive history with the company. We should not have to have these companies re-open an account that has been closed and tell us "we don't know why that was re-opened". Cut the crap and let us try and move on with our credit that is currently positive.

Gulf State Credit has over 26-Million consumer accounts. Their complaint ratio is less than 1/100th of 1% of their total account volume. People become upset with Gulf State Credit for attempting to collect debts. What they fail to understand is that the debts have been sold to them by YOUR CREDITOR. They do not pull your name and telephone number out of a hat. Your creditor sold them the account attesting to the fact that it was delinquent and that you have failed to make your agreed payments. If you want to get mad as someone, get mad at the company you applied for credit with. They are the ones that reported you as delinquent, not Gulf State Credit. And Gulf State Credit does not own Computer Finance. You people need to do some research before you start posting rediculous information. Finally, you will note that "Karen" from Michegan stated she sued Gulf State Credit. Fact is she did, and she lost. She was ordered to pay Gulf State Credit's expenses. Don't beleive me, check the court records for yourself. They are public information.

I closed off an account last year through their Collection Manager Craig Yanko and had to deal with them. Just last month they REOPENED my closed\settled account. They will not take anything but ALL!!! They lie and threaten, but they have no legal rights when they do. Write a formal complaint to the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.com as I did today. It takes about 5-10 minutes if you are a slow typer. Good luck and don't answer the phone(s).
