Computershare is the transfer agent (administrator of DRIPS) of many corporations. I had setup automatic monthly investments in 2005 but tried to terminate it in Jan 06. I thought it'd been terminated (via their website) so did not have money in my checking account. $100 was STILL withdrawn and I was hit with an NSF fee of $30.

I finally succeeded in ending the auto investments on 2/17. Unfortuantely, another $100 was already withdrawn on 2/15. I thought Computershare would simply credit my checking account, or use the money to purchase stock (as other transfer agents have done when this situations has occurred). Neither option occurred. Instead the money just disappeared from the "Pending transaction" area of the website.

I've tried for the past month (many emails, phone calls, and faxes) to get my money back. ALl I get are canned responses saying we'll look into this and let you know. Even the supervisor I spoke with has not done anything. I am tired of this and want my money back.

Report them to the SEC

Bo, I know your posting is a year+ old now, but I've been experiencing similar poor customer service-related problems with Computershare as well. (In my case, they dropped the ball on a significant stock options cash-out transaction and it meant that I lost some money... not a lot but the stock in question went down about $.30-cents per share between the time I filed my request and the time I discovered they dropped the ball, about 2 weeks later.) I'm getting the run around on this and there has been a complete lack of accountability at all levels so far. I plan to file a complaint against them through the SEC. Have you considered doing this? Good luck.
