my fiance and I purchased a Bulldog puppy from D&J Puppies 3/29/09 (note the many company names that Anton & Dawn have used)
Despite being told HE was the breeder, and being shown photos of her mother & father, I was suspicious of other breeds being there, plus Antons seemingly good natured sales pitch.
Nevertheless we fell in love with one little bulldog puppy, subsequently named Tallulah. We were given a 4 year congenital health guarantee and all seemed well....we sort of justified purchasing from him as rescuing her.
We purchased on a Sunday- after almost a whole week of loving. playing and cuddling our little girl started coughing and weezing the following Saturday- within a few hours we rushed her to the NYC Veterinary Specialists where they ran X-rays and discovered she had pneumonia. The doctor has said she could only have got it from the breeders as the bacteria would have needed time to cultivate and she had simply remained in our apartment that whole week. She remains at the hospital and will be there for at least another 4 or 5 days, in an oxygen tent helping her breathe, with drips and machines all round her....our poor little beautiful girl....
We are yet to call Anton, as we wish to speak to a lawyer first - not to try get compensation for the $9000 already spent or a replacement for our Tallulah, but to put him out of business or in jail or anywhere far away from animals.
Its taking everything in my power (and more my fiances) to stop me going there personally and dealing with this evil man.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT buy or support these people - they change their trading name often it seems - so dont buy from any kennel or breeder at 177 West End Avenue.

It seems that this guy and NYCBulldogs (whom we also visited but fortunately didnt buy from) are puppy mills who sell sick puppies, and then if they are found to be sick they ask you to return them and they will replace with a new puppy....what happens to the old one is anybodies guess...... So please if you have had luck with legal action over sick puppies, or want to join us in fighting D&J Puppies or NYCPuppies then contact me - fidgiting at h.o.t.m.a.i.l.co.uk
