I am listing a pet on my site that is in need of surgery to repair a heart defect. While helping this person she asked if I could help her locate the original owner of the pup. This is how the search ended.

Persis shafer of Delightfulpups.com ( the person we got Darla from ) had agreed to mail us back the money we paid for her. This was a start to having money towards her surgery. She told us a while ago she was going out of town to visit her sister for a couple of days and asked us to mail her the copys of the doctors diagnosis, and we did. I now cannot get in contact with her --her web page www.delightfulpups.com is not working and her phone is out of service.

She has not returned my e-mails. If anybody has info on the website or how I can locate her please let us know. we have not yet recieved the money.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome! #2Consumer Suggestion

Yes, I believe maybe all the complaints have caught up with Persis Schafer of Delightfulpups.com I also notice they would go by Delightful pets and delightful puppies. To the poster above, could you please add "Wisconsin" to the address so Delightfulpups will come up in the search by states? So far there is only one report in their name under animal abuse when there is actually TWO (or more). She is also in reports under animal services. Please read the entire report from another person, Leatrice, who was sold a sick, scrawny puppy that only weighed 1 lb...it died shortly after purchase from Delightfulpups. You can contact her also. Does your state have a lemon law for the purchasing of puppies? There are 17 states with some type of consumer laws regarding puppies. Also the health certificate that was sent with the puppy--I'd contact the veterinarian that signed it (if one ACTUALLY did...) Surely they would have picked up on a severe heart murmur. Vets check the heart, check the abdomen for hernias, check the eyes and also how the teeth meet (bite)and also check the knees.and look inside the ears. If it's a male they will check to make sure they have two testicles. If a REAL vet actually checked out Darla, he would have told her that she had a severe heart murmur. He would have written that on a certificate, also. He would also, most likely, have advised her not to sell her but to find her a good home because she might just "fade" away. I'd do a search and contact all the vets in the area. It could be that the certificate was doctored or that a healthy puppy was taken in and the paperwork was made out FOR THAT particular dog. You could start your own website and call it saveDarla.com or something similar...then put her photos in it and tell her story and ask for donations to help with her surgery. You could even ask for vets to help and donate their time! Who knows? I'm sure there are some very kind-hearted vets in the United States. It might get others on the bandwagon. There is a site called pet-abuse. com You could contact them, also. I really wish I could help and it gets me riled up to hear all this from different people with different situations. Best of luck and please keep posting or contact Leatrice so we will know what happens with Darla and if you do catch up with Persis and Delightfulpups. The administrative contact for her website is Dorina Bohnsack 529 E. Westfield Rd. Coloma, WI 7152284440 A search on the website that doesn't exist anymore tells you that (whois info) Registrant: --(blank)--Address: W3839 Hwy 16 Rio, WI 53960 Her husband's name is Gordon. I would run to the post office (before she reads this report and moves) and send a certified letter to this address and also the post office box she was using for the business in Dalton, WI. I would inform her that she knowingly sold a dog with a severe heart condition with very poor prognosis and that you are due a refund as she agreed to. I would report her to all state agencies regarding animal health. If it is found that the health certificate was "doctored" I would believe that the vet or state could do something about that. Even if you don't get a return receipt back for the letter if she doesn't pick it up or sign for it, you have proof that you notified her. Are the discussions about refund via email??? Save all emails from her. I would take her to court. I have heard that if you sue and are awarded a judgement, you can put a lien on any property she has. Contact Judge Judy or Judge Roy Brown or any similar TV show. They would most likely pay you to appear and pay for airfare, etc. The trick is getting her to appear. But...now you know her address. She was in Government Emergency Management and if you google, you might find a book with her photo in it.
