Anyone who sees these types of problems brewing with DFS, is best served by paying the balance off in full. If you don't have the funds available, try getting a new credit card possible from Chase that offers cash withdrawal for 3% of amount and 0% finance charges for a year. Take action to avoid being taken for a ride. I also had problems with DFS. Fortunately, I was able to catch it quickly and send full payment only accruing a few dollars in finance charges. I would advise all consumers to stay away from DFS. They are being investigated and taken to court for these kinds of practices. For those who haven't started doing business with DFS and really want a Dell computer, buy it with your own credit card, don't use DFS . I really like the Chase cards. Buying with your own card protects you if something goes wrong with the purchase as well. Stay away from credit cards by Bank of America as well because they often raise rates and are not flexible in dropping late fees for unforseen circumstances.

Oh my....have I spent MOST of TODAY trying to resolve these same issues??? I was NOT behind in payments, and had set this account up for AUTOPAY...they screwed up, but won't admit it, and you will find that if DELL has determined you are BEHIND in any way, they LOCK YOU OUT of accessing your account ONLINE...which forces you to PAY EXTRA FEES of 13.95 for PHONE PROCESSING, which is supposed to guarantee a payment to be made the SAME DAY...but GUESS WHAT?!?!!? Yep, no payment has been taken from my account, and of course I have the PROOF they get payments EVERY MONTH, but NEVER on the day they are supposed to take it...and confirmed with my bank that if I set the DATE to a CERTAIN DATE, then it is THEIR FAULT, and not mine, so they should take back ALL my late charges they have charged me, cuz I had my payments set up to come out TWO DAYS BEFORE my due date....alas, they can't seem to hit the right buttons till almost THREE DAYS LATE, so I get assessed late fees and finance charges...I can NEVER CATCH UP at this point, and today, when I tried to access my account, I couldn't get in....got some kind of stupid RECITATION of why I need to make a payment to THEM by PHONE before I am allowed access to my account...which would be FREE....payment is NOT DUE till 26th....HOW CONVENIENT TO ROB PEOPLE of an EXTRA 14.00!!! They are SOOOO WRONG, and the FTC is looking into them AGAIN, so I signed up and also on CONSUMER AFFAIRS about what is happening....THERE ARE A TON OF US, FOLKS, so do your DUTY to your FELLOW AMERICANS and let's get this problem handled and fixed!!!
