We are a Multi-Specialty practice, which means if you are referred to us as this patient was, he/she would have periodontial disease. Advanced periodontal problems are often not covered benefits with insurance companies. The cost of treatment solely depends on the severity of the problem. If the patient went somewhere else, chances are he/she went back to a general dentist who would only provide regular cleanings. Our patient education/ videos/ brochures are for the benefit of the patient. Most patients are grateful for the information not unhappy. In regards to x-rays, we are regulated by all of our insurance plans as well as audited annually. If we were taking inappropriate amount of x-rays, we would have been notified over the last 38 years of practicing in Pasadena. If the patient had read his/her benefit packet he/she would know that the patient is fully responsible for payment and billing of the dental clam and that all providers bill the patient's dental plan as a courtesy. Finely, we do not use a billing agency, any statement would be provided solely by Dental Plus and we do not report to any credit agency. This posting is completely incorrect and if you would like to provide the patients name, I am confident that this is a big misunderstanding. Please remove.
