When I called to order Direct TV they say it is all FREE. And they say it is $ 39.99 but they never tell you that it is $ 4.99 more for each room. And I ordered Russia additional. It is so hard to talk to them on the Phone. When they came out to install; he did'nt bring the International Dish. Whereas I had called and called so many time to re-confirm about the international dish. Instead they came in my house put boxes in 4 rooms. I was upset that why did'nt they bring the International Dish so I cancelled the order and they left but they disconnceted my COMCAST cable TV. Now I have to pay Comcast to come and re-connect.

I also agree that Direct TV states the $4.99/per receiver charge upfront. I had a problem with my original HD receiver having to be reset constantly. My problem was resolved in a satisfactory manner. I was sent an "updated" receiver at no charge, which fixed the problem. The only complaint I have with Direct TV is their incentive to sign up your friends for a credit on your account. I referred 2 friends so far. I was informed I was not eligible for this because my friend did not call the "special referral phone number"!! What? I let it go. I just had to fight for my second friend referral. I was told the "special referral phone number" was not used, but I made sure to do it as they specified this time. I was offered a $25 dollar credit. I let them know this was unacceptable. Direct TV stated I had to get my friend to call them with his account number to have the credit. He called and lo and behold my credit is no on my bill just like that. I do thank them for my credit, but I feel they try to get out of extendind the referral credit if they can get away with it.

Joseph- Maybe your experience with DirecTV was a bad one, but as the others have stated, DirecTV was very upfront about the 4.99 for each room. If you know where the cable was disconnected at, you can screw it back in and save yourself the service call from Comcast.

When the installer were here; they said had they known they would have brought the International Dish. It was not on the order (period). Whereas I had confirmed and re-confirmed twice about the International Dish. You are wrong they would have to come our twice., May in your area but not in Montgomery county, Maryland. Secondly NO they didn't tell me about $ 4.99 per room nor does it says on 1000 of promotional material they send out. Each operator tells you different rates. And when those Direct TV guys left; they cut off my Comcast TV. I called Comcast; they said call Direct TV. When I called Direct TV they said we are busy till next time. Direct TV sucks do does its customer service and installation contractors. Direct TV knows that I cancelled the order. They do not give a d**n about me by calling or apologizing.. Why are you and me beating our brain on this. If I was part of Direct TV; I would call and pacify..

Nothing but positive comments from me. The only bad thing was I lost connection once during a bad snowstorm. But I also lost power too so...

They do tell you on the phone that it is an extra 4.99 per receiver. My install was free as well, even the Russian dish. And, it is a separate dish for the Russian stations, so they would've had to come out anyway a second time. But, according to my wife, the stations suck anyway, better go with the 'other' satellite company for Russian programming.
