I went to work for a sub-contractor for Direct TV so I have seen first hand what they do. When I started they told us we would get DirectTV for free after 90 days. I decided to buy my own reciever and activate it before the 90 days. After working for them for two months I quit... what a bunch of cut throats. When I got my first bill there was a note about leaseing a reciver and a two year contract.... well nothing doing.... a call to direct TV resulted in me being told that I did not PURCHASE my reciever BUT was leasing it... since a reciever is worth alot more than I paid for it... there was NO EXPLANATION of WHAT EXACTLY I HAD PURCHASED but everyone I talked to was certain I didn't own the reciever. Anyway it is now shut off, my reciever is useless but probably refundable and I am waiting to see how it goes. I got another bill stating that I had to send my reciever back or be billed to which I sent a copy of the recept from Wallmart for the reciver (which incidently is the only piece of paperwork they have from me) I also got a solicitation from them the same day for FREEBees with a BUSNINESS REPLY ENVALOPE .... oh great I LOVE THOSE.... I filled it wiht rice and wrote NOT FOR ALL THE RICE IN CHINA ON THE OUTSIDE. ANYWAY HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER LUCK WITH THEM
