I subscribed to this service while in my home and when I learned that I was relocating to a community that didn't their service I inquired if they provided any other type of cable service that didn't have anything that would deface the community. After being told that they didn't I had no choice but to cancel the service. Then on 08/03 by checking account was debited for $476.53. I stated on the phone with several different people and was not able to get anyone to commit to putting my money back in my account. I am a senior citizen who observed their ad in the AARP coupons and thought this is more affordable than Verizon which is what I had at the time. The last person I spoke to on 08/03 was Debra employee # U6853 who said I should go to the FCC website and search for SHVRA which is according to her a law that says no management of any type of housing can refuse their service. Yet the manager at the complex clearly said Directv is not allowed there.

She said I should have been advised of their business practice up front which I was not. The only way one could see the Directv agreement is to open up several links which I didn't do and was only made aware that the information was buried within the links on 08/03.

I would like for my money to be placed back in my account as a result I have insufficient funds as well as the inconvience of contacting other creditors about this to request additional time to pay them. This is totally embrassing.

you stated you have click several links to view that customer agreement, implying that it is hidden from the consumer, but that is not the only way to view it. the easiest and most obvious way, look at the copy of the one you signed when you got installed. the tech had you sign a paper and left you a yellow copy of it. everything is stated very clearly that if you cancel you service before the end of your contract end date, you will be subject to an early cancellation fee.
