MLM format disguised as legitimate Buisiness office management position, you are hired to run a branch office for a pefume distributer(world perfume)and promised a salary of $35,000 yearly to start as well as benefits,
you are told over the phone, in your interview and in orientation that this is not a commission job and you will not be doing sales, you begin the job in a classroom setting with usually about twelve other new management trainees all hired at the same time, they begin the training with a description of the job in a very pattern form lots of motivational speaking boosting the company even a motivational video, you are told that you will work in sales for three to five days and make 50 transactions,
you will then move on to learning training and evaluation skills, then management, then do a satalite(run a small branch office)and finally buisiness administartion skills, you are told that for the first week you will only be paid for what you make in sales, given a list of perfumes and told to go home ,sell as many to your friends and family as you can take the money upfront and deliver the next day(to gain agreater apperciation for the sales staff that will be working for us), we were also told that the real sales staff goes out into the field early in the morning and comes back late at night(thats why we never see them), the second day we are
given a box of wholesale packaged designer fragrences and told to again told to push them on our friends and familyn and sent home, the third day you are sent out into the feild with a trainer to do sales, you go to business disticts and harrass every person you find into buying perfume they did not want in the first palce, you are taught to fast talk, con ,and leave out the small print, a bottle of perfume sells for $27, we hand in 20 and keep 7, you spend 7 hours a day walking around trying to sell this stuff, on average you sell 1 or two bottles a day if any, the areas you are sent to are usually areas where people have very little money to begin with(so what does it hurt to con them out of a little more, that could be spent paying bills or feeding their children),
there is actually no sales staff we ended up being the sales staff under false pretence of managerial training, the trainers were people who had only been there a week longer than we had, after the first week there is no paycheck, you make only what you have earned in sales($5 a day if youre lucky, since I started a week ago I have been told by numerous former employees that this is a scam, its all a ploy to sucker people into selling their product, there are strange rules too we are not allowed to talk in the parking lot (not just about sales but anything) when we are inside waiting for training or assignments there are many tactics to keep us from talking amongst ourselves,
a loud radio and a manager starnding in the corner observing us at all times or games of pictonary or hangman to keep us occupied like children, their motivational speeches have an almost brainwashing effect, and we are taught to just follow the pattern and don't ask questions, people who quit are refered to as and this is a quote "weenies who can't stick with the program who will wash our BMW's and serve us our food at Burger King",they are suckering in people from decent jobs who just want to get ahead and using them as an expendable grunt labor sales staff with virtually no cost to them, They make all these false promises because they do not expect anyone to stay more than a couple of weeks, this is a scam and they have gotten away with it for too long THIS MUST BE STOPPED
