1. Do not EVER use your email address as your ebay user ID. This makes it easy for a hacker to email you an official looking letter that looks like it is coming from ebay. These bogus emails usually ask you to click on links within the email to verify your personal and user information. This is the main way that hackers are getting control over ebay accounts. 2. Make your password a jumble of letter and numbers including at least one capitalized letter. Do not use words that can be found in any dictionary. Hackers use automated programs that can harvest passwords that can be found in a dictionary. 3. If you recieve an email you suspect is not from ebay REPORT IT! Use the "HELP" link at the top of the ebay page. Make sure you forward the email including full headers. Good luck in getting this problem resolved!
