Beware of Economy Auto Sales- Oak Grove, KY

I am an active duty military spouse living near Fort Campbell, KY. And want to warn you about this car dealership.

I test drove a used car and told them I would buy it if they would fix the problem it was having revving up and not changing gears right, first. They took a few days, told me they had repaired it and even put a new part in. I told them I needed a good reliable car and they assured me that it was, over and over. I told them I was spending all of my remaining income tax refund money and planned to use the car for my work and then give the car to my 17 yr old when she graduated .

The first time we had a hard rain the roof leaked and rained into the car and ruined some important papers! Then, to my surprise, less than a month later it began having the same problem and was revving and not changing gears right, again! Two months later the car was so bad it wasn't safe to drive!

I brought it back to them and they charged me $ 160.00 to repair the clutch! And if that wasn't bad enough, as I was leaving the owner came out and yelled rudely at me as I was getting into my car!

This company gave me terrible service and misrepresented the condition the vehicle was in when they sold it to me.

I would NOT recommend this company to any prospective car buyers.

I'm the gentleman who sold the 1994 Ford Escort 5 speed to Renee (said "have to get back to driving manual"), on March 17,2008 at Economy Auto Sales. When Renee came to Economy Auto Sales on March 13,2008 and wanted a cheap dependable car and we had a nice one for her that was the Escort that had low miles for the year (87,775) and cold a/c, but you could not get out the passenger door from the inside and their was a revving problem in the engine so we fixed both problems with a new inside door handle and putting in a new intake gasket because it was leaking causing the engine to reeve up and down. On March 17,2008 Renee came to Economy Auto Sales to test drive the escort again and show her husband the vehicle. When Renee came back she said she will take the vehicle so we fixed the door that day before she left. We sold here the car cash for $2400.00 and understood that she was buying the vehicle with no warranty and as is but would help if she had any problems with the vehicle. On April 13,2008 Renee sent Economy Auto Sales a e-mail saying she had a problem with the escort revving through the gears (manual),so on April 15,2008 I called Renee to see what the problem was and that's when she told me about the leak in the vehicle so I told Renee to bring the vehicle down so we could look at it and she stated that it revving problem comes and goes that she was also to busy to bring to us between here personal use and work delivering pizzas. Now on June 28,2008 Renee came to Economy Auto Sales to have our mechanic look at her vehicle (never mentioned the car leaking on the inside) and found out that what we fixed was ok but when he took the vehicle for a ride the clutch was out. We called Renee and told her that the clutch was out and that it would cost $120.00 then she hung up the phone, tried to call back no answer, 2 days later Renee's husband stopped by and worked out a deal of $160.00 for parts and labor, compared to Firestone's at $450.00 to $470.00. Now on July 2,2008 the Renee came to pick the escort and she told other customers (friends) not to purchase a vehicle from us and that's why the manager came out and told her not to come back and take her vehicle somewhere else for repairs and see if they will help her because we helped her out and that's the thanks you get for helping, this RIPOFF REPORT. THANK YOU

If I have accidently mistaken the man working there, who yelled at me, to be the owner, I wish to clarify that at this time. Thank-you.R.B
