 I've had multiple issues with this 'financial services' company. They issued me a credit card through my credit union. Several months ago I cancelled a payment because it was scheduled for 2 days before my payday, verified that it was no longer in my 'pending payments' listing, but they took it anyway-costing me $34 in their fees and $28 from my checking account. Their excuse? You waited too long, it was already processing. So why did you let me cancel it, and then have it disappear from the site?! This week, however, they ROYALLY screwed me. I had closed my account at the credit union and was paying off the card. This month, I scheduled a final payment from my current account. The day after the payment was due to be taken out, I got a letter from my old bank saying they were billing me for $28 because the credit card tried to pull from my defunct account. The credit card's reaponse? We'll try again later, and we're charging you $34 for returned payment. What, so you can charge me ANOTHER $34 and the bank can bill me ANOTHER $28? I payed from my CURRENT account! Not the defunct one! But heck, they don't care. It's a se ured card...not like I can refuse to pay whatever they charge me.
