Empirical Film, Dba Garcia Media Group Takes money, then doesn't deliver merchandise Montreal Quebec Canada
Placed order 29-Aug-06 for WKRP in Cincinnati DVD for $92.99(US) which included shipping costs by credit card. Empirical Film was paid in full the following day, 30-Aug-06! Estimated shipping time was given as 7 to 14 business days. On 22-Sep-06 I had yet to receive my order. I sent numerous emails, none of which were answered, contrary to what they claim on their website.
I filed a complaint through my credit card company and they contacted Empirical Film via telephone on 25-Sep-06. As of 05-Oct-06, Empirical Film has not responded with any details about the order.
Soon after, I did receive an email from Empirical stating that my order was shipped on 19-Sep-06 and they gave me the tracking number and advised that I check the package status at canadapost.ca and usps.com once it crossed the border into the USA.
The Canada post site indicated that the package was received on 25-Sep-06 - So, it took 6 days to go from Empirical Film docks to the post office in the same city?
The package has yet to cross into the USA - So I sent another email asking why I haven't yet received my order. The reply I received on 10-Oct-06 was "Your order was shipped on 19-Sep-06 - Please allow 7 to 14 business days for delivery"! Whomever sent the reply certainly did not do the math on 'business days lapsed' at all. Their reply was an insult to my intelligence. Well, today is the 16th business day and I still don't have my order - in fact the tracking number given has yet to cross into the US.
Empirical Film (aka Garcia Media Group). This is a total ripoff ... blatant FRAUD in my opinion, and they need to put out of business. I am not giving up about my order and have filed a complaint with the Canadian Better Business Bureau, and several other public agencies in the US about this matter.
Don't order anything from raredvds.tv or empirical.tv or anything to do with this company. They will take your money, and you will be left holding the bag.
