Let me first explain that I rent vehicles with Hxxxx through my business travel nearly 12x per year and this is the first time I have rented with this particular Enterprise in San Marcos, TX for personal use.  What was to be a reduced weekend rate - less than 300 miles traveled for ~$40 has turned into ten times that much!  

I have learned in my years to walk the vehicle and in renting this one on the weekend of the 29th, I did my customary walk around the car.  There were no dents or no scratches that the associate felt needed to be reported.  In fact, I was told, "Anything less than a golf ball, we don't usually need to report" says my Enterprise associate.  I have learned now that I need to bend down and check the front GRILL of small plastic compact cars, as I completed glanced over the damage that was almost assuredly there to begin with.

During my short weekend jaunt, the vehicle was taken to the grocery store, an outlet mall and a parking garage.  In all instances, the vehicle was placed "head in" to parking spaces, and usually away from other vehicles.  Upon returning the vehicle, the walk turned up this 3" piece of front plastic grill actually MISSING from the "honeycomb grate" is the best way I can explain it.  I stared in disbelief and took photos of my own, maintaining that there is no way this happened on my watch.

What is most frustrating to me is the fact that during my half an hour waiting for the employee to finish out the paperwork, no less than 3 other customers were in the buikding complaining of service and nearly the same issues.  I would not be surprised to find out that this vehicle - with a now-charge of 827.09 for parts, labor, administrative fees, loss of use, devaluation and anything else they can think to tack on - was and has been billed to another, if not multiple other customers. 

This was not fresh damage.  And it is "unexplainable" as to how it happened by anyone involved.

While I realize I have good insurance with USAA to deal with this, I still maintain that every single person in that location is trained to be a shister.  I don't know how I can have such impeccable service with Hertz on a yerly basis, and the ONE time I rent for pleasure with Enterprise I'm billed for nearly $900 on, suspiciously enough, what should have been the "cheap rental."  It all doesn't add up - they should be ashamed of themselves.

This location is nothing but a bunch of college students being paid on how much they can fleece the customer.  There is nothing redeemable about this location.

I was a bit skeptical about contacting CARE, even though within hours, they had encouraged me to do so as listed above.  So, this morning, I finally contacted them and received, again within hours, a response that they would kick this up to Corporate to investigate.  As fast as that, I have just been contacted by Scott, the manager for the location in San Marcos who informed me that my complaint had been resolved on their end and the claim would be closed.  I am pleased with the outcome and my situation is resolved to my satisfaction.  Thank you Enterprise.
