Seems like they are building a reputation for this rip off. Check out all the people on here they pulled that stunt on.
They tried it with me several years ago. Thankfully I haven't had to rent a car since then.

We faxed a letter detailing how we had pointed out all of the marks on the back bumper at the time that we picked up the rental car and that we were told by the rep that it was not "real damage." We received a response that said that we were responsible for the damage to the rental car. If we try to dispute this claim we have no recourse within the company.
Then, yesterday we received a letter threatening us if we did not pay in 10 days. Here is the breakdown of our total charges: Damages: $445.50, Administrative Fees: $50.00, Loss of Use (3 days @ 43.24 day) $129.72, and they waived "diminishment of value ($44.55). Total amount due is $625.22. Also, they sent a photo of a bumper, and it doesn't even show the "damage" that the representative was pointing out to us that day.
We are reporting this to the BBB of Fairfax County, as well as the VA State Insurance Division for Consumer Protection.
