We contracted & paid Expand Social on July 20th, 2011 to create a Facebook landing page because we were swamped with other things. We were told that the creative and code would be in our hands within a week. Weeks went by. We finally received the creative, and it was by far the worst I've ever seen. Our internal team laughed, wondering if these people at Expand Social were serious.

They were.

We went back to Danny Gargano, who promised us a revision. The revision came back, much later than anticipated, almost exactly identical to the previous version. At this point, we began to wonder if it would even be possible to get any kind of quality work out of this person, who was obviously incompetent, and not a graphic designer. The work appeared to have been completed using MSPaint or KidPix.

So what did we do? We designed the page ourselves, and it was very, very good. They implemented the code, but the code appeared with lots of errors and was giving a weird error message. I emailed Danny - many, many more times - with no response. I called him many times, and finally got him on the phone. He gave me that same story about his car being on fire. Sure it was.

That phone call, during which he promised revisions, was the last. We received one more email from him, followed by 10 emails from me over the course of almost 2 months. He responded to none of them. I emailed every email address on their site, posted a blog comment... nothing.

Luckily, we too will be able to dispute the charge and get our money back, but beware this pipsqueak Danny Gargano, a total scammer.
