I noticed you mentioned booking a package with Expedia, and you stated one of the items happened to be a flight. Did you know that Expedia doesn't charge for the flight itself? That portion of the package is authorized by the airline, NOT Expedia. You would've needed to call the airline you selected to get the authorization dropped off. Expedia cannot control what the airline authorizes. Also, if you talk to any Expedia agent, ask for the Case ID number next time. Any calls over 40 seconds are to be documented in a case, and if the agent is doing their job, you'll be given a case number regarding that call. Just a tip for future travel.

Nicholas - I love how you suggest to claim fraud by committing fraud and lying. Nice ethics. Maybe YOU should work for Expedia.

I'm sorry about your loss and your daugter's loss.. I have done many transactions online and I have never experienced such thing and reading your ordeal makes me angry. All I can say is that your credit card should have done a chargeback accordingly the way it should be done and not accept any bogus fax from Expedia. This was unethical by your bank and you should demand that your bank be held responsible since it was their job to get your money back. For Christ sakes you did call your bank within minutes of the transaction so they should have put a stoped to the transaction at your request. Banks usually record on their system the time and date you called with an issue so they couldn't deny it. I would demand the bank to assume responsability for allowing expedia to steal your money. Better yet next time claim you never even knew about this charge and you just heard of it when you called to check activity on your card thru the automated system. If you don't already have AOL buy a software that will log you on the net with different IP address so when you claim that you did not place the order from your computer they have no way of proving it. This way you are considered a victim of credit card fraud and you will get your money back since you never placed the order for such ticket. Do not try to do this by actually buying a ticket and using it than claiming it wasn't you because than you will be probably caught. All I'm suggesting is to hide your IP in order to be able to claim your money back for fraud if such thing ever arise instead of telling the truth and getting the short end of the stick because of someone at a bank not doing their job when their job was to immeadiately process a chargeback and stop the transaction. Next time admit to nothing and just claim that you never did placed that order and that you found out since you periodically check activity on your card. This way it will be handled as a fraudalulent purchase. Once again do not do this to order goods to come to your home, a friend or family's house for you will get caught and prosecuted. Simply do this so whenever you see that you're about to get screwed by a company you can claim that someone must have taken your credit card info. When calling your credit card to do this also have them cancel it and get a new one in the mail.
