I read your report here, working with this company it is sad that people that claim to help not only consumers, but the employees.Like all other companies are all for the money and dont care.(my opinion) hope the best for him, but i was wondering did he accept the transfer? was he offered it? because i know for a fact, a transfer can only be done if the employee wants to and if a promotion is available, but if he cant or not able to, they cannot deny his transfer choice, and they cannot ask for his keys, dollar general tried that on a great employee i had that was a third key to a asst. manager, well let say that DM is no longer with the company..... what they dont like is for an employee to stand up and face them and say no, if he could not go to that store b/c of that they have to accept that and that DM of that district has to find employees to that store, no matter what, believe me i know when you are a maanger you have that same choice to say no, and they cannot do a darn thing to you, or ask for keys, it is in the S.O.P Manual, handbook.Even though it has been time to pass since you have posted this, i saw htese reports, and working with this company, i am like these people have been lied to and even from people that claim they are still with the company, know this is wrong. But, best of Luck, and if he did promote, he is still young, all it will do is work 90-100 hrs a week, more and more thrown on him, and if you tick a dm off one time by standing up, within store standards, you will get canned... he needs a job, that is A Career, and doesnt have the most highest turn over, when you see that in a company , stay way!
