I work for a consulting company out of Chattanooga, TN. I prepared several hours work of marketing collateral and marketing CDS for an upcoming conference. I shipped these items a package to another employee at his home address for a two day deliver. The package contained marketing collateral and cds for an upcoming conference this person was attending on Sunday. The package was SUPPOSE to arrive sometime Friday.

The employee left his home on Sunday to travel to the conference taking place in Atlanta, GA. I corresponded with this person first thing Monday morning only to find out that he did not receive the package before he left home. I called Fed Ex and talked with someone in Customer Service who told me that there were "mechanical problems". I asked why I was not informed about this when the "problem" happened. She could not respond. I told her that I would now need the package re-routed to Atlanta to the hotel directly. She was happy to help and let me know that the package would be at the hotel by Tuesday, Oct. 25th by 11am.

Imagine the shock I had when the package still hadn't arrived when I left work Tuesday at 6pm. I called Fed Ex first thing this morning, (Wednesday, Oct. 26th), and they told me that the package would be delivered sometime today.

Needless to say, this did not help me or my company! The conference ended today at 11am. As the conference attendee was CHECKING OUT OF THE HOTEL... THE PACKAGE WAS DELIVERED!! My company lost thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars because of Fed Ex. The conference alone cost for our company was over $2,500. That does not include the time and money spend on the collateral in the package that was never used. We lost potentially several clients that could have provided work for my company for over two years!!!

We might as well flushed $3,000 dollars down the toliet because the conference was useless without the proper materails. That doesn't even include the cost Fed Ex will try to charge us for delivering a two day service package in SEVEN DAYS!!!
