Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

When I first had my tank installed a year ago, these were the nicest people around; talked us into renting the tank instead of buying one, only stipulation was, we had to buy our propane from them.

First fill in August 2009 was $1.67/gallon, I didn't think that was too bad.

December 31, 2009 I realized I was low on propane and called for price.  It was $2.55/gallon - I thought that was incredibly high, but understandably so since it was an unusually cold winter for Texas.  I was irritated that I had to give them my name and address before I could be quoted a price, as if "who I was" mattered.

Tge guy talked me into buying 100 gallons to "get me through the winter", prices would be lower when it wasn't so cold.

16 days later, I thought my heater was broken, went outside and the tank was empty!  OK, so I either had a leak, or I didn't actually get the 100 gallons I paid for.

So, I called them back - once again, couldn't get a price until they looked up who I was. Wow! Price had gone up $.50 in 16 days!  They'd give me a "break" though and only charge me $2.98/gall since I was such a "great customer".

$800 and 256 gallons got me through til now, September 2010.  Getting a little low, and wanting to fill up before prices go up "for the winter", I call for a price.....once again, after they look up who I am....(mind you, it's 100 degrees outside) and their price is $3.45/gallon!!!!

Are you kidding me?? I can't imagine what the price will be when it's 20 degress outside!!  When I questioned the price, the girl had "computer problems" and checked with her supervisor - "it should've been $2.50/gall", she was sorry for the confusion, her "computer didn't update correctly"...I didn't buy.

I asked her, out of curiosity, what would my price be if I "owned" my tank instead of being this loyal "rental" customer? She quoted me, $1.95/gallon.  Imagine that!

My tank will hold 256 gallons, that's a savings of $384 from the first price I was quoted @ $3.45.  Plus,  another $89 for the rent for this next year, in advance. (If I would have took the bait, I would have just written them a check for $972+hazmat fees, etc)

So, I ask, "how much will you SELL me this TANK for?" "$320", she said, "SOLD!"  I can't believe it! I can buy this tank AND fill it up for cheaper than I can fill it alone as a "loyal" customer!!  Wow!

So, I buy the tank, then I call back and ask for a price quote for a "tank owner" and once again, was quoted $3.45/gall.  Sounds a like a little bit of fishy business to me, especially when everyone else in town can quote me in less than 5 seconds of answering the phone, and every other company is around $1.99/gallon without even asking who I am!!!

I will NEVER buy propane from Ferrell Gas again!!  Sad thing is, think about all the people out there getting scammed because they have been their "loyal" customers for so many years, they just don't even question them and they are getting SCREWED every time they buy from FERRELl GAS!  FERRELL GAS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AND RUN OUT OF AMERICA!!  THEY ARE THE BIGGEST RIP OFF OF ANY COMPANY OUT THERE!
