I have been a customer of Fingerhut for over 10 years. I have not had a single problem with this company until about six months ago.

History: I was laid off my job last fall and even though money was tight, I made my monthly payments more than the minimum payment due (anywhere from $20-$30). My balance is about $250. I have very recently gone back to work but my yearly salary is less than half of what I was making at my former job, meaning that my financial situation will not change that much.

I have received, on two occasions, phone calls from the collection dept. indicating that I was overdue on making my payment for that particular month. Even though I was a few days late, I never missed a month. The rep was less than courteous, making me appear a deadbeat.

I explained that I was unemployed and that I was a long-time customer and that I WILL pay the monthly bill, but that I was having some financial difficulty. I was emphatically told to send money right away and that a late fee would be assessed on my next bill. I tried to be polite and explain AGAIN my situation, but to no avail.

I received the second call just today concerning a slightly different issue. I was told that even though I DID send in my monthly payment of $20, I was $3.90 short of the minimum payment and that I would be assessed a late fee of $25. I told the rep that he could assess a fee all he wanted, but that I was NOT paying ANY late fees because I kept the company informed of my financial situation along with keeping up with my payments.

Years ago even if I was a lot late in sending in a payment, I

never received any threatening phone calls.

My bottom line is this: As soon as I get this company paid off, I will never be a customer of Fingerhut again and I will tell anybody who will listen just what a scamming, scheming, wrong-doing, greedy, rip-off company Fingerhut truly is! In addition to dunning a good customer, their interest rate is totally ridiculous at 29.90% APR.

Never sent me a letter

This Axsys Bank Never sent me a letter stating what I owed. All of a sudden out of nowhere NCO Financial systems is calling with this 400 dollar bill. NCO was willing to take a settlement of 291. I have been working on my credit report. Now all of a sudden there is this charge off from Axsys bank ! I am upset. I will pay my part, and quickly, but to add charge - off to my report, is not right, without notification. !!!
