Do not send this company any money and here is why:

I originally applied for a loan from First Choice Lending online back in May 2006. I received a call from "Sarah Walter" at First Choice to notify me that I was approved for a loan for $6,000 and I would need to send them some information. The information they requested was a copy of my pay check stub, State ID Card and my social security card. Also, she stated that she would send over to me my loan documents right away.

I faxed them over the documents on June 1, 2006 and called to verify they received them. Sarah was not available but "Larry" said that he would send over my documents right again. So Sarah called me back and told me based on my application that I would need to send a deposit of three month's payment to their office of $801.00 to secure the loan. I didn't have the funds available so I had to borrow from my retirement loan to get the funds - in the meantime she called me constantly telling me to send her the deposit.

I finally sent over the money on 06/13/2006 and was assured by Larry Walker that I would receive my check the next day via Fedex. When the Fed Ex did not arrive, I called their office at about 6:00 PM and was told by a "Rex Adams" that my loan was put on hold and that they had to run another credit check on me and that I would need to send another $500 dollars and that they would fax me a letter "guaranteeing" me my loan if I sent the $500. They have not returned my calls at all since.

They have not returned my calls at all since. When I finally was able to contact someone in 6/15/06 I spoke with a "Jim Walker" who asked me what my complaint about was and I told him that I would not be sending them the additional $500 that they were requesting and that I wanted a refund. He told me that I would receive a refund in 15-30 days. I asked him would I receive that in writing and he proceeded to laugh at me, make sarcastic remark and I asker him could I speak with his supervisor and he again laughed and said that he was the supervisor.

I told him that I needed something in writing - he proceeded to make more remarks about how dumb I was and he that he had taken my money and he processed to repeat everything that I said in a child like manner. That is the last I have heard from them.

In case anyone else has been ripped off by this company and needs assistance in reporting it to the proper channels here is where I filed my complaints. I have sent a report on this company to the following: National Fraud Information Center Better Business Bureau of Serving Mid-Western & Central Ontario Project Phone Busters And last but not least you can repor this to RECOL at You can file a full complaint report on this website and tell them in detail what happened and they will electronically send it to the police department in the area that you wish. In this case my report was sent to the Ontario Police as well as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Internet Crime Complaint Center(United States. I hope that this helps someone else who is in this situation. We may not see this money again but if it saves someone else then it will be worth. So please report and maybe the police will be able to stop them! Thanks and good luck! You were correct to use quotes for their names. Every one of them rings a bell. But I highly doubt that an MLB All-Star, a president from Bell, or Kid Dyn-o-mite are flogging loans. Never give money to secure a loan. Sorry to hear about what these guys did to you. Hopefully your warning will help someone. You might as well file a police complaint, or even just an FTC report on-line. Who knows? You might get lucky.
