To all the people that are complaining about Fcnb i understand- i work for spiegel/eddie bauer and newport news- it has been so hectic since fcnb was liquidated by the government. we have no phone numbers directly to them because there is noone there to take your call- we (the employees) wish we could help our customers more by looking up your accounts but we cant- so when you call in when we tell you you have to write to them please dont be angry with us- we cant help you at all- we are just the merchant and the bank has cut us off with all info and that is your recent up to date balance- if you payment has posted- anything regarding your accnt we dont have- so you have to write to them or you can call this automated phone service 800-234-3262. this will tell you if your payment has posted and the recent up to date balance- so please... please.... when you call in try not to be so rude to us- we dont have any info and we wish we could help you but we cant- you have to write to them- not neccesarily that you will get a response but thats all you can do right now-- if you have a late fee that you think was in error please call us and we can take care of it for you- but be nice please- thats all we ask- we have had so many rude people that once we say we dont have any info and give the adddress to write people just yell at us- it gets old and when we have to repeat over and over and over that we have no info--- yeah it gets old- so be nice when you call and we would be more than glad to help you- remember if you are rude when u first start the call- we are going to be rude to you too- i know that its hard to get something settled when you cant talk to anybody but all you can do right now is right and like i said before if you have a late fee that u think is in error please give us a call and we can see what we can do to remove it for you-- Have a great day-- Sincerely :)
