I was trying to book a reservation with the Westin Peachtree Plaza and did not realize that I was taken to a different website and I was not talking to the Westin Peachtree Plaza until an email confirmation was sent. They just identify themselves as Reservations. The number I called (800-291-9434) is not even listed on their website. I originally talked to Clair who lead me to believe it was the Westin. When I received the confirmation, I called back and spoke to Valerie who said it was a non-refundable reservation. She offered a $50 discound on the $1395.76 charge. I said that I have 3 days right of recession and she then offered me a 10% refund of $139. I asked to speak to a manager and eventually spoke to Rubin who was very hard to understand. I do not believe he was a manager because he just repeated what Valerie said. Rubin also said that they represent Westin Peachtree Plaza which is very misleading. I am sure that the Westin Peachtree Plaza would not want to be associated with such unethical business practices. Rubin said that the 10% refund of $139 dollars would be 15 to 30 days after the reservation was complete. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General and am filling out a complaint statement for my credit card company. This is a mess and I am not sure that I really have a reservation. The government need to step in and shut down companies like this.
