I found a 0.56ct "intense pink" diamond "value $27,000" for sale on ebay by GLOBAL DIAMONDS in April this year. The photograph showed a beautiful intense pink oval stone. I bid. I won. I paid GLOBAL DIAMONDS the same day.

The item arrived and it was blackish brown, not "intense pink" as shown and stated. I immediately advised GLOBAL DIAMONDS in writing, who replied if I provided a GIA (Gemological Institute of America) valuation that proved it was not worth what GLOBAL DIAMONDS stated, GLOBAL DIAMONDS would refund my money and the cost of the valuation.

Having done as requested by GLOBAL DIAMONDS, the valuer was accredited by not only the GIA, but AGS, NAJA (National association of Jewelry appraisers), and the ISA (International Society of Appraisers) for in excess of 32 years.

I have written proof from GLOBAL DIAMONDS that he would completely refund my money and the cost of the valuation, and I quote from written correspondence: "If you don't mind please send to gia, egl, ugl or igi. These are the best labs in the world. If it does not come back as I stated I will pay all expenses. Thanks - globaldiamonds3"

When GLOBAL DIAMONDS was sent a copy of the valuation and the qualifications of the valuer, GLOBAL DIAMONDS basically and bluntly told me it was Bullsh@t and GLOBAL DIAMONDS would not be giving me my money back.

I since then wrote to others on ebay who recently purchased from GLOBAL DIAMONDS and heard from one man in Italy who 'bought' a pair of 1ct diamond earrings only to discover when they arrived that GLOBAL DIAMONDS had tricked him and sent only 0.40ct ones!

I am currently recovering from BREAST CANCER and I have been taken serious advantage of by GLOBAL DIAMONDS who even lied to the local police by saying that they would have returned my money if I had sent the stone back with a valuation that met their criteria (as quoted above, which mine did).

BEWARE everyone, of buying anything, no matter how good it seems, from GLOBAL DIAMONDS. They are dishonest and dishonourable.

Well the person won a pink diamond for 1/4 of my cost. After receiving the diamond her husband called to say how pleased he was with it and left me very positive comments. Our return policy was 7 days after receiving the item.

Three months had gone by and I received a phone call stating the diamond was black not pink. I find it very hard to believe it would take someone 3 months to notice the difference between black and pink color. Any way I had asked that it be sent to GIA,EGL or IGI for certification. It was agreed that the diamond would be sent to one of these independent labs and if the color did not come back pink a full refund would be given.

I sent many emails asking if she sent it to the lab. She told me she could not find a GIA, EGL or IGI lab. This would be impossible as I sent her all the addresses not to mention these are the finest grading labs in the world are very easy to find on the web.

That being said, after another 6 months had gone by she sends me a copy of an appraisal that a friend of hers did  for her because she stated she could not locate any of the labs we agreed upon. So I had told her I would not accept the return after 9 months. Also not to mention she never sent in to the agreed upon labs.

She then filed a claim. After about a week I get a knock on my door from a detective to the case. I provided my business license, my diamond supplier along with all documents and pictures of the diamond she purchased. After an hour or so the detective closed the case in my favor after proofing the customer got the exact diamond as stated.

We have never sold earrings to a person in Italy, so I have no idea what she is talking about.

I truly feel that she was trying to return a non expensive black diamond to get a refund because she stated over and over again that she needed money.
