Fails to disclose body repair done in-house.

I purchased a 2016 Certified Pre-Owned MDX with 2,500 miles. I was sold this car as being "better than new" as it came with the extended warranty of CPOs but was for all intensive arguments a new car. I asked numerous times if anything was wrong with the car and was repeatedly told no.

I was given "Certified" paperwork showing the car was up to Acura CPO standards and that the only work done by Goodson Acura was an oil change, tire rotation, and detailing. 36 hours after delivery, I had a friend paint meter the paint to discover repair work had been done to the front fender.

Initially I was told by Goodson they did not know anything about the repair work. Then I was told they did know about it, they had actually repainted both the fender and bumper in house, but it was "just a scratch" that was repaired. When I pushed back to that explanation and pointed out that the fender and bumper were no longer aligned, I was then told it had been involved in a collision in a parking lot.

Not only was I intentionally deceived about what I was purchasing, the repair work that was done was deleted from their invoicing system so it would not detail on the invoice they gave me, although the two codes for the repair work do show up under deleted operations. I was further lied to about this invoice being the "reconditioning repair order" that is supposed to accompany the Acura Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle 182 Point Inspection Checklist and never given the actual required form as it would have detailed the repair work, something that was being hid from me. I was also given a Carfax they knew to be inaccurate as it did not list the repairs they did in-house. To add insult to injury, when confronted with their failure to disclose the damage, I was continually lied to until they were backed in a corner and had to fess up.

As a loyal Acura owner for over a decade, I thought I could trust the dealers charged to uphold Acura standards. The Acura Certified Pre-Owned Program is touted as one of the best in the industry but is based on the honor system. Simply put, Goodson Acura does not follow the program rules. This is very disappointing.

Thank you for reaching out about your experience with your 2016 CPO MDX.

First and foremost, a sincere apology from myself and all the staff at Goodson Acura is in order. It is NEVER our intention to mislead a customer during a sale and we take situations like yours very seriously. Your situation provided me a great opportunity to train our sales and management staff and ensure they are NEVER making claims on a vehicle in which they are not 110% sure on the facts.

We appreciate your business and willingness to work with us through solving your issues. I trust that the corrections and additions that were made to your Acura MDX worked out well. We hope at this point, that you understand that we would never maliciously or intently deceive a customer and hope for an opportunity to serve you in the future with a fresh prospective on our business philosophies.

So they repainted the fenders. THAT IS NOT A RIPOFF!!!! Them NOT disclosing the repaint IS NOT A RIPOFF!!!!! YOU seem to think that YOU are privy to ANY information when the reality is that it really doesn't matter. YOU purchased what you SAW!!! What YOU saw enticed you to purchase the vehicle. So what does it matter if THEY did a repaint or the previous owner did it. WHAT would YOU be crying about if it was the previous owner who did it?? That the previous owner DID NOT inform YOU of what THEY are going to do to THEIR vehicle?? Jeez take that stick out of your backside and let it go!! Its UNIMPORTANT!!! What it REALLY sounds like is that YOU are sniffing around for something for nothing. Get over it and move on!!! IF they did indeed do work on the vehicle, well IT WAS THEIR VEHICLE!!!!! They don't need YOUR PERMISSION to do ANYTHING to THEIR car!!! The previous owner probably had some nasty bumper stickers that were FUSED to the bumper and THEY repainted it to look better. I fail to see how in ANY WAY its YOUR BUSINESS over a cosmetic issue and WHY you feel the need to go online and defame them over it. Im sure YOU have heard of making a mountain out of a molehill. THAT is what YOU are doing. Making MORE of a situation in order to get something for free!! YOU shame yourself. Both with your attitude AND your self entitlement. Im sorry to say this but at what point would it have mattered to YOU that the bumper was repainted? Just because THEY didn't mention that the bumpers were repainted doesn't mean it was done with malice OR the intent to deceive as YOU have tried to make it sound. Odds are that even the sales person didn't know. However what YOU ARE DOING is done with both malice AND forethought and it IS a crime.

What YOU have basically done is twist the truth to make THEM look bad and YOU to look good and YOU have done this on a media outlet. NOT a wise course of action. FYI: Carfax is to report accidents. IF it wasn't an accident and just a fender issue, there was no need to report it. People get their bumpers changed every day and THEY don't report it to Carfax. YOU didn't buy the car because YOU thought the fenders were cute. YOU bought the vehicle because it suited YOUR NEEDS and YOUR BUDGET. YOU just want something knocked off the price because YOU think its a flaw and if YOU turn it around on THEM, YOU might get to buy that extra CRACK you need.....typical mouth breather......
