I was doing online searches for a home in the location and price range I wanted to purchase and placed a request inline to see one home. Ken Grant of Grant and Company LLP, Cochrane showed up to show the home. To make a long story short, 3 days later I placed an offer on the home conditional on its passing a thorough inspection. The very next morning Ken Grant disappeared, going to Toronto on vacation for 8 days and leaving me no access to the property while the inspection period was running.

Once the property was finally inspected, the seller and his realtor had fraudulently misrepresented the property to the tune of an estimated cost of $30,000 to $55,000 in problems. Ken had refused to put my questions to the seller, and when i requested an extension of the inspection period to get firm bids on the cost of repairs, saying I was still interested, Ken Grant simply walked away from the transaction -- aborting all my efforts in mid-stream. Previously, I had filed 3 complaints against him for failing and/or refusing to do his job and gone in person 3 times to the local office of Grant and Company LLLP asking for help, but was refused any cooperation.

Once I withdrew my offer because G&C LLP refused to work with me, I was defrauded out of $5,907 (3 months of my Social Security -- all I have to live on) by Grant and Company LLP.  I've spent 3 months trying to recover those monies. Moreover, Mr. Ken Grant attempted to extort another $3,915 from me saying I was still "under contract" to them even after then had cut of all communications with me and told me they wanted nothing more to do with me.

Moreover, after the fact, they altered the email communications between Ken Grant and me and falisfied information to fit their chosen scenario -- whcch may be a violation of the Federal Wire Fraud Act since internet communications were destroyed.

I'm 70 and live on Social Security and now have to funds to settle into the home I purchased via another company's agent, have no gas or food money, etc. I've been put through hell at 70 by this ruthless company.

Grant and Company LLLP rendered me a financial destitute with their manipulation and fraud schemes. In my opinion, Grant and Company LLLP is worse that the Italian Mafia -- having dealt with both. The Mafia never went after the elderly but protected them, as well as children. G&C LLP cares about no one.

Beware of this company. They are incompetent, uncaring, unethical, manipulative, exploitative and a really crapping bunch of people. Even the corporate office in would not communicate with me when I asked for their help.

We need Federal laws making real estate fraud a Federal crime, especially since much of the money involved in such transactions crosses state line.
