According to people in the know on the 3rd Floor, some watchdog group has been sniffing around making inquires about Butler's new police car paid for with HUD funds. They want to know who approved the purchase order for the car and why. Was it Kinky Ken Simmons? Was is Tina Booth? Was it Dave Esparza? Was it Gerlyn Benson? Who signed off on Scott Butlers new $50,000 Sports Car? And while they are at it, we should ask about Scott's little Las Vegas "Training" junket last week. Who gave him permission to drive off to Vegas in his new car and who gave him permission to drive in EXCESS OF 100 MILES PER HOUR on the 15 Freeway? The CHP may have given Butler a pass but when Rudy finds out he has been abusing HACLA's new car, he won't be happy! A word of advice to the news media/ HUD watchdog - make a request for Scott's HACLA credit card bill. You will be VERY surprised at what you find, and PLEASE let us all know what Scott has been spending HUD/HACLA money on.

WE WON - SIMMONS LOST!

Your stupid little lawsuit went NO WHERE! In fact we are still around and the arrogant crook of a man Ken Simmons who signed off on all this nonsense is FIRED!

Here is the actual L A TIMES story -

Read it and weep Jimmy Dye - you a*****e !

The head of Los Angeles embattled housing authority stepped down Thursday, following a firestorm of controversy over spending practices on meals, travel and other activities.Ken Simmons, the interim president and chief executive of the agency, left in the wake of KCET-TVs SoCal Connected report on expensive restaurant tabs, and amid increasing scrutiny from City Controller Wendy Greuel, who has been auditing travel expenses.Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa was in Asia but his office released a letter acknowledging Simmons departure. In it, the mayor said the reports of extravagant spending had dealt the agency a serious blow.Although I know that you are deeply committed to the housing authoritys priorities, it is clear that a decisive break with past policies and practices is necessary, he wrote. For this reason, I appreciate your decision to step down as interim president and CEO of [the housing authority] to allow new leadership. The departure comes nine months after Villaraigosas appointees at the housing authority fired Simmons predecessor, Rudy Montiel. Over the last six weeks, that same board agreed to provide Montiel with a departure package of nearly $1.2 million.Deputy Mayor Sarah Sheahan said the resignation was at the mayors request. In an email to the housing authoritys board, Simmons said that he never expected that, as the temporary top executive, he would be required to address so many issues relating to the past president and CEO.I believe that I have made significant improvements in the agency's relationships with these communities as well as our sister agencies. I look forward to continuing this work, he wrote. However, I did not realize that these many issues would dominate so much of my time and energy and believe I could best serve the agency in my former capacity.

Rudy is such a fraud and a liar. They retain losers like Butler but fire Ada Cordero-Sacks. She sued and got a jury verdict for $530,000 PLUS attorney'e fees. They fired the best fraud investigators this place as ever seen, Richard Carrol and Abel Ruiz and replaced them with an incompetent 3rd rate hack from the City Attorny's office (political payoff) Michael Custodio. They placed him in the position so they can claim "Attorney client privledge" when the press tries to snoop around and find out why none of the real fraud is being investigated and what IS investigated is so poorly done, nobody is held accountable. If Rudy would spend 1/2 as much energy firing the crooks as he does firing the good people, HACLA may have a chance to succeed.

Rudy, you may be really good at keeping your $400,000 a year job by kissing Antoinio's a*s, but when he's out - so are you! Back to El Paso!
