Complaint Review: Hair Loss Control Clinic - Latham New York

After ordering a hair care product from hlcconline.com on

10/10/2009 17:21:22 EDT, a woman named Rebecca emailed me within a day

to "discuss my order with me," and other treatment

options available to me. She proceeded to try to sell me 4 other products at an in-house

discount or $50.00 of which I had no interest whatsoever with my

response being that it cost too much, and that the price would have to come

down further before I'd consider it. Arriving home the next

evening I find a voice mail asking me to call her of which I ignored due to

the fact that I was not interested in anything else that she had

to say. Keep in mind that the price on second contact was lowered

twice thus far (initial call and follow up call) further affirming my assumptions that their products are grossly overpriced. Today is October 19 - 9 days after

placing the order and I still have no   product (overpriced shipping is $8.95 alone) I Emailed the company yesterday letting them know

that I was aware of what they were doing,(holding an order in an attempt to

upsell) and that if I did not have a tracking receipt by Monday showing

this item was shipped the next business day that they could keep

the product. This products they sell are over priced Minoxidil

and vitamins and nothing more. I purchased 3 bottles of 15% Minoxidil over

the internet from another company at the cost of one of their

single bottles of Minoxidil and the same product both in chemistry and quality.

Here is their response to my email threat:

Your Order will ship out this afternoon. If you do not want

it to

ship,please notify me prior to 1pm. I have tried to reach you to discuss your order and assist you in explaining which

products would truly assist you in stopping your hair loss, and regrowing hair. Unfortunately, the last response I have from you was an email stating:

"Can you make a better deal than $60.00?

If not then I have to decline."

To this I responded, offering you a deal of $50 for all 4

products, which is a savings of over $129! Following that email, I have had no

response from you, despite continued efforts to speak with you before

upgrading your order. I do apologize that you are upset. It is normal protocol for

a Certified Hair Loss Consultant to follow up with EVERY online purchase

in order to assure your hair loss condition is properly diagnosed, the

correct products are prescribed, and the clients goals and special needs are

properly met with the correct products and program.

Translation: We did not ship your order because we were not

happy with the amount that you had spent here on your initial

visit and it is our duty to hold up your order to get more money out of

your wallet.

 

Stay far away from these types of companies due to their

bait and switch methods of doing business. I have seen these types of

companies pull this stunt too many times to count. They are being

disingenuous and dishonest in the way they are conducting business. Here is a short list of their overpriced product costs

compared to other companies on the Internet.

"These are the exact same products that provide laser

treatment to allegedly grow hair. A laser is a laser unless it's an

overpriced laser and HLCC.com offers you overpriced products. The product that I had ordered is being touted as :

"This highly concentrated preparation for home treatment contains biotin, Dexpanthenol, two vitamins, cysteine, cystine, methionine,

saw palmetto, and amino acids which are found in the hair shaft,

now with more DHT blocking ability!"

Once again I found the exact same product at half the cost

online doing a simple Google search. (Their price is 48.00) and I

have found the same product under a different label for $25.00

 

They also have a hidden proxy on Godaddy.com. What are they

hiding? The fact that they operate out of a small home office maybe? They want

to give the impression that they are a large player in the business and this is

possibly a deception as no large company hides their registry information Theyve

been in business since 2000 yet they claim to have been in business for 20

years?

clinics, hundreds of salons, spas, studios and physicians with our more than

twenty years treating hair loss.
