1. My truck and helper are on the scene for X amount of time. My expenses are not less just because it's a light vehicle. 2. Two men are used because the moped doesn't balance itself while the driver is operating the hoist. Weight doesn't matter. We not only work safely, we must prevent further damage to the vehicle and the terrain, and clean the scene of glass, etc. 3.It doesn't matter if it's a moped or a Rolls Royce, my truck is not available for other calls during that time. I don't charge more for heavier cars either, but it's an idea. 4.If it's a police tow the rates are set by the local government. We don't have control over the rate, nor do the police. 5. If it was so easy, why didn't the cop simply put the moped in the trunk of his police car, and then call you? Because he has other things to do, and couldn't accomodate you or your son. Plus, he knows who he supposed to call.
