Harborside Financial Services - Southern Welding Supply I won $47,000.00 from online lottery - do they think I am a fool? ripoff Midland, Jersey City, Savannah Georgia, Ontario Canada
I recieved a letter (dated April 04, 2007) in the mail post marked from Canada. They were pleased to announce that I had won $47,000.00 from an online lottery where my name was pulled from an entry to Publisher's Clearing House. (Now I question Publisher Clearing House's Intentions with my privacy.)
They mispelled dollars (dollas) and for prize they put price. For advise they put We "advice" you to keep things confidential.
A check was enclosed for $2,980.00 to cover adminstrative payment and clearance fees. The check is from Southern Welding Supply INC. which is not listed with the BBB in Georgia. Harboside Financial Services is listed with the BBB with no complaints. (I question how dependable the BBB really is...)
To collect payment I must contact my personal agent Teresa Johnson @ 1-705-770-2662. And you must claim your winnings no later than April 27th, 2007. I never got through on that line. Thank God!
The letter is signed Keith Davis Prize Co-ordinator. My bank said it is a scam and not to cash it. These people are ripping people off. I am glad I did my research on this one before it caused financial damage to me.
Pay attention people "If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is a scam." And if they can't spell and give you a deadline to collect - Don't fall victim to it! Pass the word and let's stop these criminals from hurting anyone else.
If it happens to you, report these guys, let them know we are not going to take this any more!
