Hillsdale Furniture makes over-priced crap then doesn't stand behind their products Louisville, Kentucky
We bought these beautiful dining chairs, at an outrageous price but we thought we really wanted them. I assembled them myself--the 1st one took an hour and a half but I realized the order of the instructions needed to be changed, and after that the other chairs went quicker. Except for one...the base had one fretted hole for a caster wheel improperly drilled. So we called and complained and they sent us another base. But, that was not to be the end of our troubles with these chairs!
They are held together by these bolts that constantly loosen themselves. You have to keep the L wrench on hand and tighten the bolts each week! And the casters have a strange design--instead of simply sticking straight in, they screw in, and then the screw going into the wheel sits on a platform that curves into the wheel well...resulting in wheels that constantly unscrew themselves a bit and then bend so you have one lopside! We called and complained and they sent a few replacement wheels. But it was getting tiresome and ridiculous every week having to re-wratchet all the bolts and make sure the wheels were screwed in. We called and asked if we could send the chairs back and get some type of refund. They said NO. They sent us a few more wheels and told us they were done with us!
If we get busy and forget to do chair maintenance, bolts start falling out onto the floor and wheel screws bend--in one chair I could not get a screw out at all after this and now we have a completely useless chair stored in the garage! We are having to bite the bullet and buy new chairs AGAIN because these are complete disasters and we are sick of them. All I can say is, DO NOT SHOP at this place!
