Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I received a phone call on my answering machine from a "Paul" who said I won "one of four prizes". I was told to call back the number 877 256-7894 to claim my prize. Once I called, I was on hold for about 15 minutes when I decided that this had to be a scam and I hung up.

But curiosity got the best of me and I called back about half an hour later and waited this time for approximately 6 minutes for a "Walter" to come to the phone.

He explained to me that I had won a prize by entering a contest within the last 12-24 months, most likely online, he wasn't sure. I wasn't too sold on his whereabouts on how I "entered" the contest but I listened to him anyway, just to see where the conversation was going next. I asked him what the catch was and he said there was no catch. I asked him how much I had to pay and he said I could leave my credit cards and wallet home for that matter, as long as I had 2 forms of ID then I would have no problem claiming.

So I asked him, "ok, so what do I have to sell?" and he said "nothing". I asked him if upon going to this location to recieve my prize, would I be attacked and would they implant microchips in me, he laughed and said no such thing was going to happen.

Well, I thought, what do I have to lose? He stated that I had to bring my "significant other or husband" and that I couldn't bring any family members or my child. When I questioned him as to why, he responded that they didn't need to have children running all around and that they wanted to get us "in and out as quickly as possible". Oh, he also said that we had to make more than 40 grand individually or combined in order to receive the car because they wanted to make sure we could pay the taxes on the vehicle.

Well, as I pondered this, he interrupted my train of thought by saying that he could fax me the information if I felt more comfortable with that.

So I gave him my work fax, he called me back after like 25 minutes to ensure that I had received it. I told him that as I was home now, I couldn't check until I got to work.

Well, I went to work at 8 this morning (March 3, 2005) and lo and behold, the fax was there waiting. I read the information eagerly, just trying to make sure that there wasn't any red tape or fine lines.

As I read, and reread, I gave it to my co-workers and discussed the possibilities of recieving this prize, which I was told could be a Lexxus (cash value 30 Grand), a Tahoe (cash value 30 Grand), a Paid Vacation for two (they included spelling errors on this one), or a 27" color television.

My co-workers and I figured that this was a scam to sell timeshares or vacations and that all I would have to do was show up, listen for 90 minutes of my life, say no, and then go get my TV because I did not think after all that talking that they would give me anything worthy of a substantial prize.

As the day progressed, I decided that I wasn't going to go. I came home, and I was talking on the phone to my husband when I received an incoming call (call waiting). It was the contest people.

I told my husband "it's the contest people" and how odd since we were just talking about the situation. I clicked over and was welcomed by a man's voice who said, and I quote: "Can I lick your *ussy". I said "EXCUSE ME!?! Who the hell is this?" and he said "A secret admirer". I said, "hold on now, what the hell is this? Please don't call here again."

At first, I thought that perhaps the caller ID was just messed up or something. That is until he called back.

I clicked over again and he repeated the same question. I asked him who he was and again he said an admirer. I said how did you get my number and he said "from a friend". So I said to him, "this is the freaking number for the contest people. You came up on my caller ID. Please don't say anything else to me or I will be forced to record this conversation" and I proceeded to hang up on him. I clicked back over to my husband and was explaining the craziness when he called yet AGAIN.

Same question, same answer. I finally said to him, please do not call here again. I am calling the police.

He hung up.

I called the police, they came over within 30 minutes. I filed a report and I am going to get that report number tomorrow so that I can call Verizon to get an authorized call report.

Who knows what would have happened to me if I went there to the location he mentioned, which by the way is:

Vacation Station

1660 Walt Whitman Road

Suite 115

Melville, NY 11747

Upon researching this company or whatever it is, I came across some interesting information.

First, on the BBB website, they have two totally different locations for the numbers that they gave me. Here it is:

Holiday Vacations

100 W. 22nd St

Lombard, IL 60148

Tel: 877 256-7879

This is the number they told me to call if I had any questions.

Prize Claim Center

7201 W. 110th ST

Suite 210

Overland Park, NS 66210

Tel: 877 256-7894

This is the number I was told to initially call back.

708 539-2373 is the number of the freak that called me. This number is from Sonnenechein Financial Services.

How did this company get mixed up in here? This is the same number, less the last three digits, that were on the return fax number from Walter.

The fax number from what Walter sent me was: 708 539-2106

So what is going on here? I hope to God that this isn't some kind of scam to get more than just my money.

It was definetly scary listening to a complete stranger humiliate me on the phone in that manner.

I am taking further action.

Yep, I got my call today. Bruce from 1-877-880-4246. Same deal. I got a message on my machine saying I won one of 4 prizes. I called up, and Bruce answered, but he had a different name. Apparently, Bruce was busy talking to people who were claiming their prizes. The story has changed a little now. Apparently, Hallmark (the greeting card people) are now in the travel and entertainment industries, and are the ones providing the prizes. They still ask if you're married. I said 'no', and then the guy started asking if I had a girlfriend. It was kind of creepy. He then asked if I was between 35 and 75. I said 'no' again, but he didnt hang up on me like earlier reports. Instead, he asked if I would get my parents to claim the prize for me. This made me suspicious, so I said "I'll ask them." He said to call back in the next 20 minutes, because he was "leaving the office". He said something during the call that made no sense to me. He said their office used to be located in the World Trade Center in NY, and that they had to move the office out to Illinois because of the terrorist attacks. Why this was relevant, I have no Idea. Why would you have your reps tell anyone this?

So I got a Call last night about How I won to call Paul back at the 877 number and I called back from my office this morning. Well when I called it rang and a guy answered "Hello this is prize claim" I answered "yes I had someone leave me a message yesterday" He respnds " what was the mess. about?" I answered " About some entry and a car claim" He replied " Yes how old are you and where are you calling from?" I told him " 23 and Texas" He said " hold on" then hung up on me. So I called back and instead of a guy answering it was music with a recording saying that all reps were busy with other clients and that someone would be with me and that everything is being recorded for my quality assurance. Then someone picked up the line and just did a breathing noise. FREAKS! so I decided to call them over and over for about 5 min. SO what ever as long as they dont call me again.

These clowns are using state records for newly registered corporations to select phone numbers for their scam. My source that monitors web traffic at a corporation search website follows visitor trends when people use the site in patterns that match with information scrapers and i am told it is a suburban illinois IP address that is being forwarded to a states attorney for several corporations that have complained. I'll keep you updated if/when anything comes of it all. presumably there is some electronic communications violation going on.

They've been hounding my cell phone over the past week, and I have no idea where they got the number. "Walter" seemed cooperative about taking me off their list (he picked right up at 877-256-7894), but I'll follow up on here if I start getting other fraudulent calls from this. I'm extremely curious as to what happened with the woman who went through the process in October of last year -- what ever happened??

I pulled your report up through a google search of the phone #877-256-7894 for Paul who left the same message on my phone. It was basically the same set up except this search came about because they call themselves: Horizon Travel 13 Red Roof Ln Unit 2A Salem, NH 03079 I spoke to Petra (her direct # is 877-256-7879) and she set up an appointment for me for this Sunday at 2pm to claim my scratcher and prize. Same deal, 2 proofs of id, must be above $40,000 combined a year income, etc. I am going to this just to see what is the deal, if it's legit or not and I will let you know the outcome. I am not worried about it since my significant other is in the law enforcement field. Keep an eye out for the outcome (I have not received and vulgar calls from them like you did FYI) and I will let you know if we did, indeed, win anything.

I am responding to this report because of my concern over two phone calls I received on my personal phone number from the exact same number and company - Sonnenechein Financial Services -mentioned towards the end of the report. The first call showed up on my phone with no message. This morning, I received a call from the same company and phone number. I answered, but was lucky enough to hear a male voice say in a monotone voice - I'm sorry, I have the wrong number - instead of an obscene phone call. I decided to call back and ask why he called twice if it was the wrong number, only to hear a message from the phone company "I'm sorry, this number is no longer in service". I Googled the company name and this site and report came up first on the list. I'm not sure if there is a connection, but I felt it strange and somewhat frightening that this showed up like this. I will keep a log now and if I receive any other calls. I have a terminally ill daughter and do not want her to innocently pick up the phone and be the brunt of a very sick person. Plus, I have received packets in the mail from Holiday Vacation in the near past, which I have not responded to. If there is something else this site would suggest I do in order to help resolve this offensive use of information, please let me know.

also, the reason why i originally responded to you in the way i did is because I do not give you the respect I would give a customer. You are defaming our company, calling us fraudulent, when you have absolutley no idea what we do or what we offer. You were never a customer, nor will ever be one, and you are disrespectful, so a positive rebuttal for you isn't happenin cap'n.

All I have to say is that: #1. You Don't call customers that complained about your services or whatever LIARS. #2. You will eventually be found out about and your scheming ways to harrass and exploit people will come to a halt. #3. You offered no significant rebuttal. Your response said it all. If anyone is the LIAR it is you and your fraudulent company. #4. The police that came to my house to file the report the same night had a similar call to his house, without the lewdness, but with the promise of a guaranteed win of "one of four prizes". #5. You should check your staff and see who made phone calls the night of the complaint. You may be surprised that one of your staff members is making calls from that Sonnenshein Financial phone line without your permission.

I don't understand why you must make up lies about our company. All of our phone calls are recorded, and monitored by managers. There is no possible way someone from our office called and asked you if the could "lick your *****". It would be impossible for someone from our organization to do that. You must have prank callers, or secret admirers that your spouse doensnt know about, because we didn't call you and say that. Don't you have better things to do than make false reports about us?
