I ordered over $36.00 worth of candy online from hometowncandy.com. My credit card was instantly charged. I was sent a USPS tracking number, which made me feel confident that I would soon get my candy.
After a couple of weeks with no candy, I tried to call the company. I got an answering machine that said they were busy with other customers and to leave a message. I left numerous messages that were never returned. I emailed them and got auto-responders saying I would get a customized reply.
To date, even after all my emails and voice mail messages, I have never received any kind of reply from this company. I also tried calling the number that appeared on my credit card. That number led to a different voice mail but, likewise, my calls were never returned. I periodically check my USPS tracking number and my candy has still not been mailed.
Due to the total lack of customer service, I believe that it was never their intention to send the candy. If I had adequately investigated this company before ordering, I would have seen that the BBB has numerous complaints against it for non-delivery of candy.
