Hotwire.com Misrepresenting hotels, star levels Internet
I needed to make a business travel to Reno, NV for few days. After reviewing other travel sites, I've decided to go with
Hotwire.com. I wanted to get either a 4 or a 5 star hotel. By deciding to go with a 4-star hotel, I made my bid and ended up with a hotel that was barely worth 3.5 stars. Since the level of a hotel is very important to me, I was confident that this hotel would not show up in my bid, since the partner (Hotels.com) also rated it as a 3.5 stars. There were also other sites that were rating it as 3.5 stars. Even when I talked to Mark, the same day of the booking (10/18/2012 at 2:18pm, he acknowledged that I was correct and was ready to correct the situation until he spoke to Brandon (Supervisor, ID 19153834). Brandon flat out refused to do anything about it, even when I asked just to credit the amount, so I could get a 5 star hotel from their site. I asked to speak to a manager and was transferred to speak with Debbie (ID # 1153). She also refused to get anything done about it. I stayed at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino before and decided to never stay there again as this is not a 4 star hotel. I believe that Hotwire.com deliberately miscategorized the hotel and put in the wrong category. Too bad that they failed to do anything, as they lost a good customer.
