Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I met with a person at this company in Irving, TX after several emails and a telephone conversation. I did my homework on this company because I was already apprehensive. They completly checked out, no BBB, No fraud alert, nothing on Google, and in business for 10 years. The sales pitch sounded pretty good, these people are pro's at that side of the process. He tould me that he had placed people in executive roles all over the state of Texas, got them high salarys, and in some cases sign on bonuses.

This seemed very believable there office is in a nice high rise tower and because they do a really good job of redesigning how you present yourself, but this has limits that most employers will see through. For example, if the highest position you have ever held in your whole career has only been a project manager it's unrealistic that you are going to get hired as a CIO, just because your resume says that you are a great leader and the experience section still says project manager. So the part that really makes me the maddest is that this person went as far as to say to me that his brother-in law might hire me as a VP because I have the skills that they are allways looking for in a canidate. After I signed on the line it was never spoken of again.

The sign up fee was close to $7,000 (like $6790 I believe). It was a lot of money but I was caught up in the idea that this would help me gain employment at a higher level then any of my past positions and the new income as an executive would help me pay it back. Then came the next phase where they set me up appointments to talk with a guy out in Colorado once a week. This guy was an executive many years ago and his advise seemed very dated in todays technology driven economy. There again, no job assistence. They set up a web page they called a web portfolio and that was $1900 of the 7k. This website was cheap and probably cost them $100. Then the old execute out in CO. reworked my LinkedIn profile and complained about it the whole time. I sent him meeting notices and he literally yelled at me because it was messing up his calendar. Eventually, I saw that there was very little value in continuing to talk to this guy in CO. because over half of the time was spent listening to him talk about his house, yard, and daily life so I discontinued our weekly calls.

Bottom line here. Does the HPB service have value, Yes. Is it worth $7,000, Hell No! They are nothing more than a fancy resume writing service with some really good tips. Beware of the smooth sales pitch of how they can transform a project manager into the CIO of a company and how they have done it before.
