International Card Establishment, Inc., Aka ICE Fraudulent and unethical business. Charged $500 cancellation fee after being told there was no fee for termination of service. Camarillo California
My company was charged a termination fee of $500 after being told there was no termination fee. I did not have any contract that stated there was a charge for terminating their service. After writing to the company, they produced a one page document that I had never seen before and claimed it was my problem that I didn't receive it. ICE claimed this one page document gave them the authority to charge me the $500. When I phoned the customer service number listed on this one page document, they told me they hadn't done business with ICE for 2 years! When I confronted ICE about this, they claimed they had no idea the company listed was no longer working with them! ICE deceptively claimed I should have known to download their "program guide" from the internet and this would have given me the information about the cancellation fee and they claimed it wasn't their problem that the sales person did not give me the information! This company also charges excessive and hidden credit card fees to process payments. These companies usually have a parent company such as, First Data Corp, or the company that handles the sales, Neos. That's what makes it difficult to pin down their unethical business practices.
