JBC Legal & Associates PC Harassment Insulted Ripoff Threatened Bloomfield New Jersey
This is what I was faced with on Tuesday morning (04/12/05 @10:18 am) ..
Caller: Is this Jessica _______?
I said: Yes
Caller: Do you have a lawyer?
I said: What?
Caller: Do you have a lawyer?
I said: No
Caller: Well you better get one!
I was totally caught off guard. They didn't acknowledge who they were, or what it was in regards to. I finally through questions and persistence found out that JBC was calling about a bounced check from 1999. As far as I knew the check was taken care of, because the bank account was closed and paid off. The woman on the phone was rude, and mean. I tried to explain to her it was taken care of, but she kept arguing that it wasn't, finally out of frustration, I said I thought the statue of limitations was only 18 months for a bounced check? She flipped, and screamed at me, she said Why are you so concerned with the statue of limitations for? Do you go around town writing bad checks? I was said no then she said Well you owe $2025.00 and you better get a good lawyer!! and with that she hangs up on me. I was floored what just happened?
A few things struck me a wrongnot identifying themselves, she threatened me and she accused me and called me a bad check writer. Needless to say, after do some searching I found this site and read all of the complaints about this companyand that put my mind at ease. so to speakLOL I called a local attorney to see how I can go after them and they said they need 20 people of more to file complaints to get a class action suit. So in the mean time I sent a certified letter, return receipt letter and 2 first class letters to verify the debt. I used the form letter from the previous post, which is really good letter!! I in turn called the credit report people and they too are investigating this. JBC needs to be taken down !!!!!

WOOO h*o!!! I received a letter from the credit report company stating they investigated the dispute I submitted about my JBC legal account. The credit company removed it from my credit report because JBC legal DID NOT verify it!!!!! People stand up for yourselves, and against these losers!!! I used the form letter that was in another post, and just plugged in my info. I can't wait for these bozos to call nowLOL Even if you owe it, it can be removed, just VERIFY it, and stick it to them!!!

I found out today from the USPS website, that my 2 letters I sent certified to JBC Legal were delivered today (4/18/05 @9:39am) so the clock is now ticking. ~In my letter it stated I wanted a copy of this "bounced check". ~They are to cease in contacting me (except by mail) ~and If they can not validate the debt in writing , they are to remove it from my credit report. I also have investagations in the with credit agencies and told them what I sent JBC Legal, and said the only validation I except is the copy of the "bounced check" So we will see what turns out!!!! Protect your rights people!
