Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On the 11th of July 09 I took my 08 Superduty to Jenkins and Wynne (JW) for the scheduled maintenance. Upon the completion of the "Works" oil change I was informed that "Front (brakes) pads will need to be  needed in the next 4k to 6k miles" as per the tech Mark S; truck only had 38k on it. I spoke with Larry about this due to the fact they did the last scheduled maintenance 4k ago and everything was fine. He stated I must be a aggressive driver and went into a lecture and said it will cost roughly $400.00.

Upon leaving I went straight to Meineke and got a second opinion. The Meineke tech stated the there is 60 to 70% brake pad remaining and the brakes are fine. On Monday July 13th, I contacted Mr Bateman and explained what happened and asked why. He stated that the tech Mark S. was working on two identical Superdutys and the other vehicle had the brake issue. I found it hard to believe but mistakes happen.

On the next scheduled maintenance on the 26th of September 2009 I had the "Works" oil change completed. Upon completion I went to my truck and the tire rotation was not completed (the tech was also Mark S, co-coincidence?), the reason I know this is because the Body shop at JW painted the rim on a repair two weeks prior (there is another complaint for that). So Eddie tired to argue until I explained to him that I can prove it with the rim. So after being told we owe you a rotation I explained how JW will NEVER work on my truck again due to the integrity issue of this and the brakes.

At one point in time I explained to my wife that while I was away that if anything happened to my truck take it to JW and they will take care of you. I feel really ignorant for putting my wife and children in that situation to be taken advantage of. The only reason I take my truck to Ford is in the event of a failure they can not argue about the maintenance. What do you do when you can not trust your local "President's Award" winner Ford dealer? A formal complaint has be filed with Ford Motor Company.

It will be hard to REBUTTAL this because this information is on the service ticket.

Just meet with Mr. Murray and Mr. Bateman.  To be honest I expected a argument, there was not one.  Mistakes where acknowledged and I explain my situation.  Out of all the dealerships in this town I believe what they say.  A inspection is to be completed on my truck to verify the condition of the brakes and to ensure the maintenance was completed correctly.  I will not say that they will never work on my vehicle again that would be a lie.  The issue was correct well beyond my expectations and is a closed matter as im concerned.

I have been doing business with your dealership since Feb 14 1998 when I bought my wife our first new car.  Since then this dealership has painted three of my vehicles, and completed maintenance on all my Ford's and on my current vehicle over eight times.

So I have no idea what your talking about "The fact that we have a business in Clarksville is already a negative to Mr. Maple and he also admitted that he hates raising a family here and wants to be transferred. So, from the beginning and before even he came in, Jenkins & Wynne did not sit favorably with Mr. Maple".  You took what I said out of context like everything else.

The reason I hate rasing Children here is due to Crocked business and people.  Get what I said right!  If it applies to you so be it, if not good for you!

Now the brakes, are they good or bad?? Make a call!

For the comment about being a meticulous individual.   The question is, is it ok to have overspray on the frame, leaf spring, rim, spare tire and to also have a cracked bed cap, swirl scratches in the paint; keep in mind this was the second time painting it.  By the comment you posted this must be acceptable by J&W standards.

Yes, I did say I guess I expected too much.  That was sarcasm, the only thing I expected was the job at hand done correctly the first time.  That must be too much to ask.

It says I was contacted by several managers, when??  The only contact I have had with anyone from J&W was when I called them.

Yes I was upset when I spoke to Mr. Murray.  I did say somthing about putting a ad in The Leaf.  Why do that and spend my money when Graigslist and others are free!!

The same still stands what I would like done to satisfy this whole matter IS to have a competent mechanic look over my vehicle and ensure the maintenance is completed correctly.  Do you not have any competent mechanics, Mr. Don Jenkins???

Mr. Dan Maple is a very particular person....and self-admits that he may expect too much. The fact that we have a business in Clarksville is already a negative to Mr. Maple and he also admitted that he hates raising a family here and wants to be transferred. So, from the beginning and before even he came in, Jenkins & Wynne did not sit favorably with Mr. Maple.

In regards to the Body Shop repairs, we discussed the paint and overspray issues with Mr. Maples and attempted to correct them. We were not able to please him, and he had the State Farm adjuster Mr. Craig Shriver inspect the vehicle. Mr. Maples wanted the vehicle repainted.

The local Accurate Autobody shop in Clarksville corrected the problems by buffing the paint. They also found overspray on the wheel and replaced it (we furnished the new wheel). Mr. Shriver told our Body Shop Manager that he saw the problems that were in the paint but that he had never seen anyone as meticulous as Mr. Maples. We had an agreement with Mr. Shriver that we would pay for the repairs at Accurate Autobody for any faulty work on our part. We have not received a bill for this work.

On the visit to our Service Department on July 11th, our Technician stated that after the next 4k to 6k miles that the front brake pads may need replacing. Mr. Maples took his vehicle to Meineke for a second opinion. Their opinion was that there was 60 to 70% left on the pads. I doubt if either Technician miked the thickness of these pads to see exactly how much wear was left on them. Our Technician recommended checking the pads at 44k miles. The Meineke Technician recommended checking the pads at 80k to 100k miles. On Meinekes recommendation, if the brake pads lasted as long as they said they would (based on our Technicians professional opinions, they would not), most likely the rotors would be ruined. (The vehicle had about 38k miles already on it.) I would recommend our advice over Meinekes opinion. This was only a recommendation and did not cost Mr. Maples any money.

On the visit to our Service Department on September the 26th, our Technician failed to do a tire rotation that was called for on the service special that Mr. Maples pulled off the Internet. The works special was $29.95 after the $10.00 mail-in coupon, which would have made the price $39.95 before the mail-in coupon. We charged Mr. Maples only $29.95, which did not include the tire rotation. Yes, we made a mistake, but we did not charge for work not done.

Mr. Maples called our GM on Saturday September 26th after his visit to our Service Department to explain his frustrations. We told him that we would get with our Service Manager on Monday and try to get the problem corrected. He called again on Friday October the 9th to inform me that he was taking an ad out in The Leaf Chronicle to let everyone know how bad his treatment was here. We tried to reason with him. We told him that we wanted to make him a satisfied customer. We stated that we had just been voted the Best Place to Buy a Car the night before at The Best of Clarksville. He said that we did not have any competition in Clarksville. He said that he went out of town to buy his vehicle because of this. He also said that he did not like Clarksville, the people, or the businesses here. He said that he had tried to get transferred from Ft. Campbell because Clarksville was not a fit place to raise children. This may explain why we are unable to please Mr. Maples.

As with any repair, we strive our best to help, fix, and correct. We have an outstanding track record with the Insurance Companys on restoring vehicles to excellence. Jenkins & Wynne does attempt to be perfect. We are however a team made of humans and we, as humans, do make mistakes. When we realized our mistake of not rotating the tires while in for service, we admitted it and offered to fix our mistake. It seems that with Mr. Maple, nothing could make him happy and nothing could quench his particular taste. Several Managers, including our General Manager of 47 years, has talked to Mr. Maple and help find a common solution to satisfy him. No stone was left unturned to assist Mr. Maple. Jenkins & Wynne did everything we could possibly do to help ease his extreme unhappiness and frustration.

Recently, the people of Clarksville just voted us Best Place to Buy a Car for the 9th year. In addition, Jenkins & Wynne has earned numerous Presidents Award for customer satisfaction in Ford-Lincoln-Mercury and Hondavoted on by customers! As it stands today, we are the #1 Ford-Lincoln-Mercury Store in TN. We are honored to serve Clarksville and the USA for 56 years and feel privileged to provide our loyal customers with excellent service.
