Jesse Brown VA Medical Center dehumanizing treatment Chicago Illinois
I am writing this to detail the embarrassing and dehumanizing treatment I suffered at the Jesse Brown VA center at the hands of Dr. Dr. Nikita Abhyankar .
I am a former Marine wounded in action in Afghanistan. Although I came back for the most part ok, I suffer from fairly severe PTSD. My condition has caused rather embarrassing problems in my sex life and has resulted in problems in my marriage.
I went to the VA and was treated for this by Dr. Ahbyankar. She was condescending and rude making light of both my service and physical ailments and asking questions regarding my sex life which seemed completely unprofessional. I endured it and received a prescription, but as I was leaving, I heard Dr. Abhankar laughing with another hospital employee about my "deficiencies" .
She made a joke that the only way I could probably get off was by killing babies or something".
I felt absolutely livid. I left as fast as I could. I did my time and was proud to serve my country, and I think I deserve better than to have treatment like this from a doctor who is supposed to be helping vets put their lives back together.
