Recently I took my car in for an oil change. I had a coupon and showed it to the manager at check in and told him I only wanted the coupon service. At check out, he charged me $10 more for premium oil and a $2 shop fee. I asked him to remove the erroneous charge and he basically called me a liar saying I requested the upgrade. Not true. He also said, "you people pull this stuff all the time." They were horrible to deal with and forget getting your money back b/c contacting the corporate office does nothing. They don't even return calls.

I have had better luck at other locations but JB, Gig Harbor is cheating their customers.

75$ TA

So you pride your self on that 75$ ticket average? Managers do care that you are right because they do not hit bonus if the TA is not at your franchise min. As far as who pushes? are you telling me your district manager has never emailed your location at 4 pm and stated that if the location closes with any thing under $XX.XX the manager would be written up? If you have not seen that then you need to not comment because I Have many of them printed and sitting on my desk. I have a problem with overselling. Every car that pulls on to the lot does not need a engine flush. At 75$ you are over doubling the price of a oil change. So you mean to tell me that people in your area drive cars that are in that much need of work and that they have all that extra money? So customers don't ever tell you they can only afford the oil change and nothing else? Do you charge fleets for top offs if they really don't need them or do you just sweet talk the customers and shmoose them over and make them think your a swell guy and your trustworthy? I have been told that I need to sell snow to a alaskan because the TA is lower than it should be, and I don't agree with it. To ask the customer if they want each individual service is pressuring them. I know from being on the consumer end it feels like some one is fishing for my wallet.

Ok, so I updated my posting a few months ago to say that the district manager promised to refund my money and made things right. Oh surprise, they lied about that too. I never received the refund or any follow up from JL. It's ok though b/c I haven't and will never go back. Also, I have told and emailed everyone I know about how I was ripped off at JL.

Dear Jill. It's a shame to hear of your story. Some people out there are incredible aren't they? It's good to hear that corporate office stepped upto the plate and refunded your money back. The reason these things take so long to happen is for the chain of command to be followed. You make a complaint to corporate, corporate then in turns pulls up your invoice and talks to the store manager at the location where the incident happened. That manager must then go and talk to all the employees who are listed as having worked on your car. They in turn must then send all this information to corporate including filling out all the relevant paperwork. Then some poor schmuck in corporate has to make a decision on the incident. I don't blame you for not wanting to return to that Jiffy Lube. Glad it's all sorted out now! Dear Alan. Wow, you sure must be a busy man being a fly on the wall at all the Jiffy Lubes locations around the US to know that MOST of the time they FORGET to put the plug in tight enough, or screw the filter in, or forget to put oil in. I commend you! Superman ahoy! Think before you post. You just sounded like a fool. Dear Gene. It's a shame that Jiffy Lube has left such a sour taste in your mouth and I do hope you get properly compensated for the money that is owed to you. I do have to ask though. Who is pushing the team members to make more sales? I know that sometimes I get a gentle nudge from my manager to actually ask for the sale. No one has ever pushed me to make sales. Now I'm not sure if thats because I typically run a $75 ticket average or not. But the only people I see pushing members to make more sales is the manager. Isn't that what you were? Shame you got caught with your fingers in the till

I was just recently a store manager of a jiffy lube in Ottawa, IL. i went to that store believing i was going to be payed a certain amount of $ and that my gas would be payed for as well since it was a 160 mile round trip six days a week..well needless to say i was not reimbursed the money for gas so i did what was called a pay out from the cash drawer the money was completely documented and sent to the corporate office...not only that but i was guaranteed 33,500/yr. and once i recieved my first check i noticed that my pay will only come to 28,600/yr. i had contacted my district manager and he told me he would take care of it...to make a long story short the company started switching managers all over i ended up check after check the wrong pay i took it to regional manager Ben Thompson and he still is avoiding me...now lets see what they do when labor board gets involved and i get payed while i go out and let everybody know the real inside on jiffy lube signiature service for starters the employees jobs there are to make as many sales possible in a day no matter what it takes!!!

Just be glad your car is still running and the engine has not seized after having Jiffy Lube service it. Most of the time they forget to tighten the oil plug, or strip the threads, or leave the old oil filter gasket on so the filter leaks, or just plain forget to put oil back in. Any of these means a new engine and guess who pays for it, certainly not JL. Do yourself a favor do not go there.

Jiffy Lube Upper Management Did The Right Thing!

I just received a call from the Jiffy Lube district manager who apologized for the store "shift" manager, refunded my money and offered a sincere apology for the entire incident. I doubt I'll use Jiffy Lube again but I do appreciate the apology.
