Jim Walter Homes new home building nightmare Yorktown Virginia
*****BUYER BEWARE******
We purchased a home from Yorktown, VA in March 2005. As of today, the house still has not passed even the framing inspection.
the foundation sat for months and the lumber sat on the lot in the rain all winter. there is no front door.
we have had at least 6 different construcion managers--none of whom know anything about building houses..they rarely return phone calls and when they do they lie and try to make you feel sorry for them...even the home office in Tampa, Fl is non-responsive.
when we threatened legal action, there response was a form letter that basically skirted the issues and patted us on the back. the letter writer, a customer service manager, cannot be reached by phone although she indicates in her letter that she wants us to be happy and is available to hear our concerns.
****purchasing a home from these people is madness, plain and simple*****
