This man, Joe Diamond Steward, born 08-30-1977, weight: 250, African American, height: 5'11", eyes: brown, Michigan driver's license number: S 363 425 6757, stole my wife's diamond necklace while he was painting the interior of our home. He had to move the jewelry chest out of the way when painting, and that night my wife noticed the door of the case was ajar. She quickly took inventory of the case and found that her most precious diamond necklace was missing which she had worn just two nights prior. She distinctly remembered placing the necklace back on the hook inside the case where it belonged. We immediately called the police.

The police confronted Joe (who was working alone without a helper) and questioned him the next day when he returned to our house to finish the work. After the questioning was over the police said to my wife and I "he did it, but you'll never prove it". He also said that after so many years of being a police officer he can tell when he's being lied to. Hence he suggested we ask Joe to take a lie detector test. Joe agreed and an appointment was scheduled. Naturally, Joe never showed up for the lie detector, and never returned the police's repeated attempts to reach him. The police told us there was nothing they could do unless we had video, positive lie test, or a confession.

I text messaged Joe asking him to come in and dissolve himself of any wrong-doing by taking the lie test if he is really innocent. Instead he texted back that I'm scamming him. That's impossible because the necklace was uninsured, and I have no motive to claim someone stole my jewelry. Completely irrational, but you should know that will be his rebuttal.

I wish there would have been something out there about this guy when I tried googling him before he started painting. He is a real charmer, but deep down he's a bad egg and a good thief. He got away scott free with my wife's beautiful necklace that is irreplaceable. He probably sold it for a fraction of it's value is the sad part.

Folks, be aware of this nasty crook who has a police record as long as a Costo receipt. I hope I can stop at minimum one person from getting hurt by Joe.
