I paid over $1000 fee to have John Atchley, Jr. settle my debts. I heard his Sat afternoon show on the radio called"Credit Talk USA".  3 years later he settled 3 out of 7 debts turned over to his company, and he was late on some of those payments, putting my settlement agreement at risk.
I continually and routinely requested status reports and the amount the latest offer on each of my accounts, which were rarely provided.  When he would finally respond, often weeks or months later, his answer was always "they aren't low enough yet" without providing any amounts. My contract expired, and in year 3 he convinced me that he would "personally take my file and aggressively contact the creditors and bring me offers" for another fee of $250.

I wired a large sum of money at the beginning of my contract to be held in an escrow account to be used to settle my debts. I have requested return of my escrow over and over again over the course of several months by telephone, and dozens of emails.  My contract has been expired for almost a year, and no resolution.  All telephone calls to his office (972) 200-1187 ALWAYS go to an answering service, who quote that the company has regular business hours.  I have asked for anyone in the office to return my calls.  No one ever returns the calls.  His office is located in a bank of executive suites with a common receptionist.  The receptionist reports that there is rarely anyone in the office and there are no business hours. She reports that they only come in "by appointment only". Mr. Atchley acknowledges that my account has been audited for the balance of my funds that are being held in escrow, but he advised that the FTC rules regarding swift return of escrow did not apply to his company since it located in Texas.  American Negotiators has over $3000 of my escrow funds that they have failed to return to me.

The local radio station no longer carries his radio show.  Every few weeks the answering service changes the story to report that "Mr. Atchley will be out of the office until the 15th of next month".  Every 2 or 3 weeks Mr. Atchley will respond to my emails saying that he will "return my money next week".  I have since found a complaint from the FTC for Mr. Atchley's former company "Cornerstone Wealth" alleging untrue or misleading representation at the following link http://www.ftc.gov/os/1998/03/cornerstone.fld.htm.
