This report is of a different nature than what's normally listed here. I have e mailed this company's corporate office as well as several individual Just Brakes corporate officials several times on this issue but have gotten no response from anyone. This is what I wrote to them...

I don't know who gets these e mails but this is the address I was told to send to. I headed into your Pinellas Park, FL store with my 7 yr old daughter to have some brake work done on my truck. As I walk up to the building I happen to notice who the manager there is and immediately recognize him as none other than Derek Francis. Now...I know Francis and I also know that he is a convicted child molester and is not allowed to have contact with children unsupervised. He plead guilty to that charge and still wears his ankle monitor. Needless to say, I took my 7 year old back to my truck and got the hell out of there, not wanting to expose my child to someone like him!

I cannot believe that Just Brakes employs people like him and I will NOT do business with someone that does. I will also tell everyone I know not to do business with you people as well. I'm sure that once word gets around that the manager of that store is the degenerate sex offender that he is, business will probably start going away. Don't you people do background checks on your employees before you hire them??? By the way, what I've just told you about Francis is on public record with Pinellas County, FL and can be seen by anyone on line. Maybe you don't know about those charges/convictions, but this link will prove it. Just click "Guest Log In" when you get to the site.

I see that no one has cared enough to respond to my previous e mail and that this "person" is still managing your Pinellas Park, FL store. You "Really Do Care?" I think not! I've told everyone I know about this situation and am now considering copying my original e mail to some of the more popular customer complaint web sites. I'm sure the general public will want to know that you have scum such as the person mentioned below running your stores. Women like myself need to protect our children from exposure to people like him...that's why info on these kinds of people and their despicable acts are made public record so that we can! (see the link below)  (http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/flyer.do?personId=69062 ) If these are the types of people you want working for you then I just can't believe it.

I don't know that they will actually respond to you.  If I had to guess, they won't because they can't.  They might be doing an investigation on it...let's hope!  There's the chance he was accused and plead guilty while he was already an employee, but they didn't know about it going on.  If he was hired after he plead guilty, and they didn't do a good background check, they can't lawfully terminate his employment from a prior accusation without a huge lawsuit.  If they terminate him because of something you reported on the internet, once again a huge lawsuit.  

Sadly, this guy has a ton of leverage right now.  If this company has morals and intelligence, they will watch him scrupulously, document every tiny wrong-doing of his, and eventually terminate him for other reasons such as excessive tardiness/absence, inability to perform job assigned, etc.  They could try for misconduct, but that just about never leads anywhere in the state of Florida.  The state always finds "Misconduct could not be proven".  But, it would take time.

I would keep doing what your'e doing.  However, I would first find out if this location is a corporate or franchised store.  If it's a corporate store, keep going at it.  If it's owned by a franchisee, find out who the local owner is and bring it directly to his attention.  If he doesnt respond, go through the community.  Derek Francis was over the age of 35 and plead guilty to molestation of a female between the ages of 12-15.  This company should have known well before now what happened.  If he was hired after the crime, they never should have hired him.  If he was hired before the crime, they should now by now and have taken some sort of action.  I'm a woman with a 6yr old son.  I frequently check on the FDLE websit.  As well, I have a Life360/sex offenders app on my phone.  Based on GPS, it constantly shows me all surrounding registered sexual offenders/predators, their photo/name/age, nearest hospitals, police stations, fire departments, and latest arrests made.
