Nearly one year ago, I purchase the JVC HR-DVS3U Mini DV/SVHS deck. It is currently in for warranty work for the third time. When the machine was first purchased, it did nearly none of the functions which it was supposed to be able to perform and it had severe dropout of both audio and video signals.

Sending it in for warranty work at the Cypress, California service division of JVC did little good. They made some adjustments and informed me it was the fault of my cameras.

Do not send your equipment there!

Consequently, I sent my cameras in for cleaning and adjustments. The machine still did not perform. I then sent the machine to the Lawrenceville, Georgia service division of JVC. They did a lot of good. They at least got the machine to do the basic functions it is supposed to do. They changed out several parts which they found to be no good. However; there was still drop out of both audio and video signals. The service department personnel questioned whether it was the tape I was using, but my other players play the tape with no trouble. Only with the JVC HR-DVS3U Mini DV/SVHS deck do I experience the dropout. That is simply unacceptable.

This has been an extremely frustrating experience. Not only did I pay for a machine which I have not been able to use, but I have had to spend a lot of time and effort in trying to get it working. Plus that, is the time and expense of repeatedly shipping the machine in for service work. Needless to say, I am not happy with JVC or Dbuys.com for selling me a terrible product.
