Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I bought a 2004 Nissan Titan from this dealership back in May of 2009. I have paid my bill ON-TIME for 4 years now. On Monday, May 27th, I went to CarMax to sell my vehicle to them as I knew I was no longer upside down on my loan. CarMax faxed over a Pay-off amount form to Kal Motors. After several hours of no response CarMax called kal Motors and spoke to a woman named Norma. Norma said they could not find the paperwork today, but to try again with them tomorrow and they should be able to locate it. This was a major inconvenience for me!

The next day I call CarMax to see if they received the form back to which they say they have not. I call Kal Motors and speak with a woman named Consuela and Norma again and they both say they are going to send the form over shortly. At this point I figure it's going to take them a couple hours, because they are slow, so I go to work in my other vehicle that I own.

When I come back home after work (6pm) my truck is missing from the front of my house! I call the police and they say that Kal Motors has repossessed my truck from me! I HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE OR MISSED ANY PAYMENTS! I have check receipts to prove all of this. I call Kal Motors and they refuse to speak with me and keep telling me Norma and Consuela are busy. I call the city of South Gate and find out who the owner of the dealership is (Magdi Kallini). I call Kal Motors and try to speak with him. They refuse to transfer my call. Then I ask to speak with a General Manager. They hang up on me! I then call the police back and they tell me they have received numerous complaints about this dealership doing this to people and their best advice to me is to hire an attorney. The officer goes on to explain that these little dealerships would rather take the vehicle back, put it on their lot, and double their money rather than have the vehicle paid off. He said it's unfortunate and illegal, but they prey on people who are elderly or don't speak english very well who won't cause trouble for them by reporting it or hiring an attorney.

I have put in a call with the California State Attorney General and the Department of Motor Vehicles Board. I am 73 years old and this is just a disgrace that a business would conduct itself in this manner in this country. Customers are protected by laws so hopefully I can get justice served on these crooks!
