I was ripped off by Kars Yes in Baldwin Park in 1997. I was, and still am, in the military and find it disgraceful the way I was treated.

I purchased a 1989 Pontiac Le Mans from them for $348 a month and would make that payment every two weeks alone. I would often get ahead of the payments, only to be told that I was behind by at least a month and a half's worth.

I had paid well over $5,000 in payments when my car was "repo'd" from the driveway of my former in-laws home on Father's Day 1997.

Just four days earlier, I had my wife, at the time, go to the Baldwin Park location to make a payment that would've covered two comlete months.

Well, to make a long story short, I was told that the car was not paid for, (regardless of the fact I had receipts), and once my car was stolen, their Baldwin Park location "mysteriously" went out of business.

When we went to get the car, I was given my belongings in paper sacks used to contain dry cement. Most of my important belongings went missing, as did my car.

I was then receiving harassing phone calls at my job and home telling me I was behind on my payments for a car I didn't have. I was still expected to pay for a car that was taken from me and sold at auction for $600 cash.

Up until 2003, I was receiving letters and phone calls expecting me to pay for a car that was no longer in my posession, let alone, probably still in existence.

I would not recommend anyone, especially military personnel, that no matter how badly you need a car, do not do business with these chameleons. They've gone through three name changes in eight years and one has to wonder why.

When enough consumers have come to the realization of their unscrupulous business practices, they close up shop, move locations and then reopen under a new name figuring nobody's that smart to figure out what they've done.
